Well this certainly won't help dispel any misconceptions or stereotypes about Australia ...

On a side note a doco I watched the other day on the clusterfuck that is our NBN network pointed out how good the internet is in NZ by comparison. Dunedin, for example, has rolled out gigabit cable as standard (that is, you can't get it slower). Elsewhere, the slowest, bare bones, entry-level speed is 100Mbps ranging up to 500 Mbps with 1Gbps to be rolled out nationally soon.

It was a government rather than "let the market decide" project.

Just a datapoint for y'all...

What a journey.
Finally visited the IKEA that is just steps from where I work. I recall visiting one in 2011 (?) in twin cities, near Mall of America. I did not think much of it then.

So, I MUST BE TURNING EUROPEAN. I could SO see myself in their "540 square feet" and "280 square feet" living spaces. (my barn is 432 sq feet).
And, I could not believe how cheap some things were.

Well, this is just embarrassing...

Under Bob Hawke's watch he'd have downed a yard glass and belched out the lyrics of Highway to Hell.

Tomorrow is my birthday. I usually try to ignore it but this year I'm going to be a little gimmicky. My initials are MS. Those two letters also represent Multiple Sclerosis. I'm participating in the MS-150 ride in June to raise funds for the National MS Society and I'm declaring November 28th to be MS Day by asking people to make a donation. Want to join in? do it here:

Thank you!

Amazon has apparently opened up its online presence in Australia.

The launch was a bit like Netflix Australia - Limited range, crap prices...
