in the US, where the cell-phone market seems almost totally planned around customers not being able to multiply by 12 or 24
I thought that the US market was planned around adding arbitrary fees to customer bills, and then keeping a straight face while declaring that prices haven't been raised :-/

So you do not want it in a pouch? You would not use it on a couch?

... even with the payment plans the carriers offer.

Even with what they proffer? Are you sure, sir?

iPhone X shipping estimates improving before launch. Seems to bear out my observation that the resale market is weaker than expected; I'm guessing this isn't just newfound production, but also resellers cancelling preorders, and those are being reallocated to individual purchasers. So… the system works, I guess?

I want/desire speakers with two to three times more volume than that of which I have heard.

As of 8 am iPhone X in stock here; and remember we (most of Indiana) has ONE Apple Store.
Tempted....

Why only show carrier options for iPhone X online purchase? The Verizon is unlocked, but can't avoid port number rigamarole. [rigamarole is NOT in the right-click, lookup on Macs... huh]

Can I buy a phone at Keystone today and use my existing Cricket Wireless (SIM)?

Please wait while I connect you with an Apple Specialist.

iphone X

Hi there! Welcome to Apple! My name is Mary. Thank you for patiently waiting in the queue. How are you doing today? I hope all is well.

I'm fine. Can I buy a phone X at Keystone today and use my existing Cricket Wireless (SIM)?

Thank you so much for your interest in our new iPhone X. I’m here to make sure all your questions will be answered. :)

If I’m not mistaken, Cricket wireless uses ATT network, right?

I only have the one question. I'm fine. Can I buy a phone X at Keystone today and use my existing Cricket Wireless (SIM)?

If Cricket is using GSM network, you can purchase an iPhone X GSM version, this is the same as what ATT uses. You can order it in our store, just a reminder the availability of the iPhone X in any Apple Store is something that I'm not able to guarantee.

I see Keystone has stock. But one can only choose carriers. When I arrive at Keystone, can any of those phones be sold to me as unlocked, carrier-free?

The iPhone X model that we have right now currently doesn't have an unlocked version. During your store visit, just let our store specialist know that you needed a GSM ready version for this model. This iPhone model will work on both AT&T and T-Mobile wireless networks. It will use either 3G or 4G LTE cellular technology for voice and data services. It can also roam internationally on many GSM carriers around the world.

Ok. By the way, Verizon phone is unlocked, but online order form requires me to put my information in in what appears to be a "Port my number" first step for Verizon. But nonethelss it is LISTED as an unlocked phone on apple site... just can't avoid that port number onthe form. Thank you for your help.

That is absolutely right, CDMA version of iPhone X is unlocked, although, the iPhone X model that we have right not is not a Sim-free version, so, ordering a phone on our website will require a wireless number, so can Apple pre-activate your iPhone X with your carrier network before we deliver it.

wait, the CDMA (Verizon) model cannot be used on GSM? I thought Apple used only one radio/chipset in all iphones sold in North America.

If you choose Sprint or Verizon as your wireless carrier, your iPhone will use CDMA cellular technology for voice and data services. If you buy an iPhone with Verizon or Sprint, it will work on AT&T or T‑Mobile. An iPhone activated on Sprint or Verizon also has the ability to roam internationally on GSM networks.

No problem! Oh, by the way, you can also order online. If you plan to purchase the iPhone X outright, you can select T-Mobile for carrier, by choosing this carrier, the system will no longer ask for your wireless information. T-Mobile also uses GSM network, so this device will work on Cricket network as well. Of course, this is just an option, but whichever will be more convenient for you works for me..

Thanks. Apple needs to just have an unlocked button at the choose carrier step, imo. Cheers.

Must be getting old. Or poorish. My 6S still does everything I want, feels fast (okay, I've bitched about bugs hitting it with iOS 11), love the size and shape with a squared-off Spigen case. I run into accidental actions when I pick up my iPad -- it registers a touch on the let or right edges of the screen -- so I wonder how many accidental inputs I'd see if my phone had no bezels.

Already have - iPhone 6. No identified issues/difficulties though sometime in the transition to 11.x I've had at least one Note entry disappear which is a bit disconcerting. Can't tie it to 11.1 specifically though.

it'd would have been so much nicer to pair up a few things and offer a combination of evaluative factors.

I looked up the Apple Store today to see what the Australian prices were for the lower end iPhone 5SE. I was stunned to find out how much it costs - over A$500.

That's nuts for an entry-level phone ...
