In America, the only respectable form of socialism is socialism for the rich.
OK unless I'm still foggy from the week of drinking Nyqil I recall having posted or at the very least had a troll account during the MTK days.

I too had a tower of Power -- bought two of them and ViewSonic monitors. Only the OS was from Apple and I saved thousands!

I am 99% sure Soup was on the MTK boards and Tliet too. And deBenedetti. RIP.

Ok.... this is the test.

Who here remembers HIS WHOSE NAME SHALL NOT BE SPOKEN?

I lurked for a long time. I think I started posting when I started college. I believe I was reading MTK since I was like 14.

Funny, I was just thinking of HWSRN the other day, for the first time in years. Wonder what ever happened to G----e? What a pompous ass.

I discovered the MTK boards just after moving to Indiana, in August 1996, and was around for the forced march off WebX, RKM's revolution and the restoration, the demise of Macweek, the debut of the Spork boards and the rise of the original MacEdition (I was one of Tony's POCWACTSOs once, but never finished the second column--sorry, TL). Good times.

Jeff, you are officially an old timer.

What was his last name?

Nobody should have to endure a Georging.

I was on the knifeboards since as near the beginning as possible.

Valpak got a T1 in 1994, and I was in Mac support. We were using Applelink, and then the Web hit.

Of course, as a bona-fide Mac support pro, I "spilled" to the Knife as much as possible. I have a mug.

I read Mac Week in print religiously, and then the new-fangled Web had a bulletin board, well hey!

I thought I had an archive of my mail from before 2000, but I can't find it, so getting an accurate timeline of it is difficult. Harumph.

spork.cc was where Spork was put initially, on a Quadra 800, on Molecular Media's DSL.

Baha, I'm drawing a blank. I tried real hard to suppress the memory of that jerk.

Tom, wow, a mug. I always coveted those, but as a POCWACTSO had no hope of ever getting one.

yes that's right. Tom, no idea of george's last name. Gunder or something?

There was a George Greene III, and a George Gunderson.

I think the former was *the* George.

Search for "big g media" and "kharaku" and "macrelations" and "thessasource"...

Edit: but reading some of those links (and going to the caches and archive.org) makes me think they may have been the same person...

>POCWACTSO

Oh, that takes me back...

G.E.G. III used to have a pretty awful homepage at http://www.kharaku.com/ (it used to say at the bottom "this website is fully buzzword compliant!") but it's not there any more...

Sad that I know that...

I was around using my name at one early point before switching to handle. I remember G. Someone (cough bah) accused me of being a G. No clue what the topic -- I was probably advocating for Rhapsody... lol.
