Det finnes ikke dårlig vær, bare dårlige klær!
You could also head north a little bit to my old hometown, Fairfield... there you can visit the Jelly Belly Jelly Bean Factory.

And it's not a valley! Valleys are lowlands bounded by hills. Unless you could Fremont, Union City, and the rest of the East Bay as part of Silicon Valley, and that'd break the narrative (and include all them poors -- that'd make Peter Thiel sad).

Yes, south of SF is just burbs, basically. Colma is kind of interesting if you like graveyard -- there's some interesting history there.

Maybe use Apple Maps's satellite view to give yourself a flyover look!

What a journey.
I've been looking at google and apple 3d maps for hours. I needed to get my bearings.
I could not BEAR to DEAL with mountains/hills/peaks all in the middle of things, needing to constantly drive AROUND those things to get somewhere.
What is that huge tower on top of the hill near SF? (Sutro) sore thumb up there.
ok, I MUST finish up my plans.

It's quite beloved here. Iconic, if you will.

To me, it kind of reminds me of the early Wing Commander games -- and that's not a bad thing.

What a journey.
Got it all booked/planned. Leave at 6 am tomorrow.
tomorrow arrive, grab car at SFO and drive to mundane Si Valley.
Return next day and arrive downtown for the conference.
Thursday I fly to Palm Spring to drive cars fast at Thermal Track.
Fly back home Saturday.
wife thinks I'm crazy to choose geek/nerd silicon valley over sequoias or other. :)
I mean, I want to see a Frys in its natural habitat.

Is that new?

Wasn't there, gosh 8-9 yrs ago...

Sutro Tower? It's been there for decades. I just don't think you were anywhere where you could see it at a good angle (and the fog often hits it).

And that was more like 10 years ago, as I remember you got to meet my soon-ex.

So Jefe, what's your conference schedule? We should figure out a dinner. I'm booked -- ugh, I'm booked Tues, Wed, and Thurs nights. What the hell, man?

Plausible deniability so you don't have to admit you set foot in SF :-)
