We are supposed to be going on a cruise Sunday out of San Juan, PR.
Booking flights kind of sucked and we ended up with a schedule that had us going from MSP to BOS to EWR to SJU. That included an 8 hour overnight layover at EWR.
This morning I got an alert that our first leg, MSP-BOS was delayed 20 minutes. This was inconvenient but still potentially doable. This afternoon, I got another alert that the flight was delayed another 20 minutes, making it basically impossible to catch our connection to EWR. This wasn't even a weather delay.
I called JetBlue and spent 40 minutes on the phone with them, the new schedule has some risk of weather delays with the storms coming tomorrow night. We SHOULD be able to get through just ahead of the snow. Fingers crossed.

I heard a good idea -- if you're flying (or doing anything involving essential Federal employees), bring things like snacks or small necessities to hand out to these people who are working unpaid hours.

Shortly after that last post, I received an alert saying that our new itinerary was canceled. Luckily, we managed to rebook on Sun Country on a direct flight. The downside is that we couldn't book it with a return flight on the day we get back from our cruise or even the following day so now we're staying in San Juan two extra days after the cruise. Luckily, we have the ability to take that extra time off from work. I know many people aren't so privileged.
