Apple's new magic keyboards. My old extended keyboard died so I had to get a new one.
After attempting to cope with a cheap wired Microsoft keyboard, I caved in and shelled out for a new wireless extended "magic keyboard". I didn't realise the magic part referred to you wouldn't get full functionality (including bluetooth pairing) unless you upgrade to Sierra.
WTF? It's just a keyboard FFS...

Chrome, which I used to like as my first choice browser until I ran into this issue:
https://discourse.pi-hole.net/t/disable-async-dns-resolver-in-google-chrome/9500
Saw (only!) Google ads on websites in Chrome where Safari and Firefox showed none. I've now removed Chrome from my Macs and switched over to Firefox full time. It's been at least 6 years since I last used Firefox full time and it's been great so far. It quite literally flies on my 2013 MacBook Air.

What a journey.
Good. I've never let Chrome touch my Macs.

Firefox is my main browser but I do have to use Chrome on certain sites Firefox simply barfs on...
I don’t know if it’s bad markup, Firefox, or “Chrome is the new IE6” syndrome (when IE6 was the standard, not the nuisance)
Safari is the most likely to barf on a site in my experience...

Hey, we don't need that kind of smug sarcasm from you socialist Scandinavians! (I know, but the 'Murican who'd say that has no idea about Scandinavia.)

It's a pretty stupid bug, but it can no longer be exploited. The question remains however, how long it remained undetected.

regular old landlines could hear room noises before and in between the rings. We used to show/prove this when we were kids. Yell words, pick up.. "What'd I say?"... yup, you can hear.

Group FaceTime was introduced in iOS 12.1 last October 30, so I'm betting the answer is three months.

OK, but when was it first found (and exploited)? And could the victim not notice that he or she was taking part in a Facetime call? Or at least see that there was a missed call?

Obviously I don't know the answer to the first question. The second and third are documented in the reporting on the bug — the vulnerability is while the call is ringing on the target phone, so yes, the target sees the incoming call and the missed call, the problem is that they were already being seen/heard while it was ringing. It seems unlikely that this was exploited to much real effect by anyone but it's certainly possible.
