Well, how the hell can you defund their schooling, deny their basic rights, and hunt them for sport if people don't let 'em be born?

We're going to end in civil war, and it won't be nice and neat like the last time, because the factions aren't separated neatly by geography.

They'll be separated by security walls. The rich will use a portion of their tax cuts to hire the gun nuts to be their private security. Everyone wins!

Well, it worked for Louis XVI so why won't it work here!

“I think what he’s done is elevate the conversation to talk about a real issue and threat.”

Agreed. Wait, we're talking about his presidency as the issue and threat, right?

"When I say they, who are 'they?'" he asked. "They’re liberals. They don’t hold conservative values. They are the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender who want to change our culture. They are socialists who want to change our way of life and put man above God and the government is our God. They're the Washington establishment...who don't want to lose their power."

MAGA or the end of America?

Saw that. Hard not to believe that a good portion of today's Republican party support is mostly "fuck people different from me". But so many people are still bending over backwards to "understand" these good folk. Sorry, I mean "volk".

Quote seen on twitter:

"Hope Susan Sarandon enjoys her fucking tax cut..."

Touché.

So even RedState.com doesn't like the new Republican budget. Their top gripe is "deficit", of course, but #2 is that it gives to the rich and takes from the poor... I wonder where these people were for the last few decades.

The president's lawyer is now advancing the theory that a president can't be guilty of obstructing justice, because he is the "chief law enforcement officer." As the font of all justice, he cannot commit a crime. I guess that Trump was right when he said that he could gun a man down in the street and nobody would stop him.

We are really running pell-mell away from the principles of democracy.

It's true that it's never been tested. The NYT has a good explanation of what's possible, what's precedented. The usual check on power is impeachment, which as the Times puts it, is "quasi-judicial, quasi-political". Up to Congress.

Moore won't concede. I predict allegations of voter fraud by illegal immigrants, and accusations of hacking on behalf of Democrats.
