Apple's Carpool Karaoke series is available for streaming now on Apple Music. Anybody heard anything at all about it, now that it's released? I haven't.

Bought the first book of The Expanse series today, Leviathan Wakes.

Johnny, you liked the book, didn't you?

Love it. Characters are a bit pulpy, but that's the candy shell on a hard sci-fi core. Just checked out the most recent (6th?) one. Enjoy!

Tried watching Dark Matter and soon skipped the rest of the first season to see Ellen Wong's character debut (sigh, I guess they're treating her as "generic Asian"). Just... if I am going to watch something that feels so cardboard (characters, situations), I'd rather it be '70s or '80s BBC sci-fi with intentionally low budgets and the associated charm.

I really liked the expanse. I have finished book 4. I think it strays into the "Evil, Inc" a bit much but I think there is good depth to the main characters and it never takes itself too seriously.

My thoughts too. Even more so with Killjoys

Not sure why Klingons need yet another remake, this time to look more like insects. Not sure why Spock needs another semi-sibling that he never mentioned; perhaps every Vulcan needs to be tied to Spock in some way.

The Trekyards guys (on youtube) are having a hard time remaining optimistic about STD.

Brutal dissection of Ready Player One (I admit I couldn't get through it, for many of the same reasons, plus I do not think most of those targets of nostalgia are SUPER KEEN): https://theconcourse.deadspin.com/ready-player-one-finds-the-bleak-limits-of-nostalgia-1797497066

Absolutely spot on. For a cartoon that superficially just appears to be about wacky sci-fi adventures that episode got pretty deep. The therapist was awesome.

Yes! Just caught up. Susan Sarandon. Never seen a therapist get to the point that quickly in real life.
Like Hulk's point about consequences. For all the dimension jumping, there's very little escaping.

Watched movie 2016 LOVING last night.
Brilliantly honest. Not sensationalistic. Snapshot of USAmerican life.

OMG, how did I take this long to discover Veep? Almost as good as The Thick of It (and by the same director).

Cue shade/snark from ddt in 3, 2, 1...

And there I was hoping you'd be the David Stratton to my Margaret Pomerantz (two Australian movie review critics who were notorious for strongly disagreeing on nearly everything)

Okay, uh, it's dragged on a bit since it got the new showrunner, some shticks are being recycled, and it's sad there's no chance of a cameo by either Capaldi or Gandolfini's characters.
