I think that there will probably be separate hardware event, later in the year, for Macs and maybe Homepods and Watches. Certainly one for phones.

Yeah, I thought Piles was something that had been introduced, then abandoned. What the heck?

This guy does seem like he's got a bit of an axe to grind, but I think that his general point is accurate. Apple doesn't have a clear direction, and is kind of throwing random crap against the wall to see what sticks. And I don't have as much faith in AR for the general public ass Apple has.

Mac hardware was price/performance competitive a few years ago! What happened?

Rogue Amoeba agrees.

(I think this is the general Apple Event thread now?)

Leaks! Leaks! We haven't seen pre-event leaks this good in at least a few years. Granted that it's just naming and design/appearance, but still, this is arguably the most that's leaked pre-announcement since what, the iPhone 6?

I know I'm not the first, or the thousandth, person to note this, but the iPhone XS "Excess" is a ridiculous name for a phone. And one that somebody should have thought of before the iPhone X was named.

iPhone XS Max …Headroom? These new iPhone product offerings seem basically fine but Apple's product names are off the rails. If they were going to do this they should've just called them all "the new iPhone" instead.

Maybe it's meant to be pronounced "iPhone Ten Smacks."

Odd Apple does not have today's event on their event page https://www.apple.com/apple-events/

"Two of our most personal products…" OK, I guess there's no need to watch this one, with the leaks that's about all I needed to know.

From day ONE, I've thought the most important aspect of internet+somedevice would be medical/health alert such as "John has died" or similar.

I wonder if I can get my health insurance to pay for the new watch.

medical/health alert such as "John has died" or similar.

That's the kind of status that doesn't really need rapid response.
