Hi Tom,

I was unable to upload an avatar image using Safari 5.0.2 for Windows. The same image uploaded correctly in Firefox. When I tried to upload in Safari, after selecting an image but before clicking Save it would often jump to the front page of the Macedition forums. Other times, it would go to the front page of my Control Center. In either case, the image was not uploaded. This isn't a high priority fix (for me), but I thought that I should let you know about it.

I have tried 3 times to upgrade the ram in my MacBook2,1 Intel Core Duo 2.16GHz. w/OS x 10.6.4 It currently has 2- 512MB 2Rx16 PC2-5300S-12 by hynix I am currently trying to put in
2- 1GB 2Rx16 PC2-5300S-12 by hynix. When I make the upgrade all I get is a black screen. I have tried 2 other times to upgrade the ram with other brands and got the same result. That is why I matched the ram to the same as it came with only bigger. (also I am new here so if I posted in the wrong area go easy on Me.)
Thanks,

Not to complain about the snazzy look look, but... well, i'm complaining about it.

The color choice of dark green, grey, black, shiny fonts is all very cold.

The ads that assault me top, left and right make me feel ever chillier.

The Mac Professional's Resource may be good for macedition, but at the top we used to see ribaldry rumors rats.

Sure, maybe this is what the main boards need to look like, but you know I was in the subway last week before this went down and I thought to myself, I've been on spork for ten years. Will I still be on spork in forty? And I said, yeah, could be. The core group has learned to get along better and some of the outright jerks (not me! I only said some) have gone away, making it easier even if we've lost some great friends too.

But this design says to me that the spork boards are over, that we're integrated into something else. Even at Macweek, the boards were the knife boards. That set a tone. The tone here is we form the core of a new community that is business like.

I just can't imagine Soup posting his eloquent defense of alcoholism in Newport here. I just can't.

I'm not really sure what to do since this software is a b*tch and it sounds like we're not changing that, but how about a redesign of the colors and the graphics a little? Please?

One of the things I liked the best about the Spork boards was how simple the layout was where it was easy to read from one post to another. The design of this leaves a bit to be desired for the forum area (I like it for the regular site though).

Could we maybe lose the side bars for the search and categories and have the forum area go from edge to edge? Maybe put the search and google add at the bottom of the page? Or if you want to keep the search side bar just get rid of the categories one as they do not really relate to the forums area.

Also there area too many lines and separation between the reply's to a post.
