I was just over 7.5 years when I finished my recent job. prior to that I had a string of jobs that never lasted longer than 11months due to the dot com bust.

More of a facepalm than a bitch, but at first my boss said that if i signed a confidentiality agreement he would let me finish after three weeks, but still pay out my four weeks notice. This was supposed to be a carrot, and it's kinda tempting, but not enough to make me sign.
He has been dragging his feet getting the agreement finalised, partly because we keep asking him to take stuff out or cha

The problem with public transport is kinda catch 22, we don't have a huge population so it hasn't been built up as much as it could, which means it's not very convenient for a lot of people, and because its not that convenient, people don't bother using it, because people don't bother using it the government doesn't invest in building up the infrastructure. It's also set up radially so it's usual

YMMV though. You might like Sydney - I've never been to Perth so I have no basis for comparison.
Sydney has just been run down and neglected ever since the Olympics. It's very big and very crowded with terrible traffic and even worse public transport. After 13 years in Sydney I personally found Brisbane a breath of fresh air - but I was very lucky with the suburb I picked up h

You can easily rename the iPad in iTunes. After that iTunes will identify it by the new name.

I've stopped paying attention to those numbers. At this point they're so big they're almost meaningless. I saw a comment today that apple could buy a bunch of (rather poor) countries outright.

Thanks guys. Within a day of resigning I already have a company interested in speaking to me about full time work, so things are looking pretty good so far.
Is that because I get to hang out with you Tony?

I submitted my resignation today. It's been a long time coming. But on thursday night I was told by the real estate agent that the owner of the place I was living wants to renovate so i have a couple of months to leave. The problem is that the guys i was sharing with is moving out this weekend to live with his fiance. Ultimately I decided that since I'll be packing all my stuff and moving anyway,

after having played the whole halo series i found it somewhat awkward to go back to marathon. the memories I have of how the game played dont match up with how it actually plays. I remember it being smoother and faster but after having played more modern games it doesn't feel that way anymore.

the invite button reappeared yesterday, but apparently it only stayed up for 45 minutes. From the look of the front page now they've opened it up to anyone with a google account.

I tried sharing something with the spork circle I created, still no go. Make sure you have signed up to be notified at plus.google.com
I invited a bunch of people just by sharing random posts directly to their gmail address (skipping circles altogether). I'm not sure if this method is still working though.

Tony, thats the situation I ran into with the Daniel Suarez books. linking my amazon account as the payment source solved the problem.

Thats pretty easy to get around. Set up an amazon account at amazon with your credit card, then link the amazon account to audible. Audible doesn't seem to check the address of the amazon account. I've used this to get some Daniel Suarez audio books that aren't available in australia for some reason.

I don't know yet. My only mac is a 4 year old macbook and the only touch it does is two finger scrolling and two finger right-click. I really like the way they work and I expect that I will like the new gestures whenever I get around to upgrading to a new macbook pro.
On the other hand I have the magic mouse and I turn off most of the touch stuff on it because it's pretty much useless. I put tha

I can't wait for iCloud. Finally there will be an easy way to have all my itunes libraries synced. The thing is you're only relying on the network to get it onto your device in the first place. If you lose your network connection after that it's not a big deal because you still have the files stored locally. I think Apple TV is the only device that wont store the files locally.
Also, you can sti
