I know I'm not the only one here to dabble in old toys and technology. What retro entertainment do other people enjoy?

Commodore
Atari
Coleco
Intellivison
Pong
Merlin
Simon
Betamax
LaserDisc
CD-i
8 Track
Windows XP
Etc.

I'm sure all or some of you already know all of this data by heart.

Failure is pre-greatness.
Given how long it's been since previous versions, I thought this thread might be appropriate: who knew there is a Quicken 2015 for Mac? http://www.quicken.com/mac

Or is this just me somehow being oblivious?

I wonder if they put back all of the electronic banking stuff they dropped because they didn't want to implement in Cocoa. Cursory glance at the product page looks like the kind of artful dodging around omitted features that I've come to expect from Intuit. I use SEE Finance now.

That's pretty close to what Madaracs did at his house... except it spans two bedrooms and most of his family room.

I've decided I'm finally going to add a couple of items to my collection that I've been putting off for years.

I need to find a working CED player and a DCC deck.

Would any of you happen to have either of these sitting around gathering dust?

No. Just got rid of a laserdisc player last year. I assume you already have victrola and wax (cylinder) players? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_sound_recording

You people and your obsession with... things.

On an unrelated note, have you seen the new category of gravel bikes, like the Specialized Diverge? Wonder if I can justify... .

So it's a cross bike by another name?

Sort of -- they're still defining the differences. A gravel bike generally has slightly slacker angles and a longer wheelbase for more stability rather than quick agility, through-axles rather than quick releases, basically stuff for long events that may have long climbs and descents rather than 1hr+1lap tight race courses.

Kinda.

And that's still cool.
