With the memory of iTools well-faded, .Mac heads to the history books as well.

So, MobileMe doesn't like firefox. I couldn't open it at work on FF2.0 or home on FF3.0.

Yeah. And it doesn't let you sync bookmarks to Firefox either. On my Windows machine it only gives me the option of IE or Safari.

Push email now working. Receive email in less than 2 seconds, and quicker than my Mail client on my Mac.

Niiiiiiiiice.

And the web apps are down again, at least for me.

Loud will be the lamentation of the Apple web monkeys when the Wrath of the Steve is felt.

MobileMe has removed their Billing Info section without explanation. Too bad, since my account summary screen says, "There was a problem with your credit card" and is scheduled to renew in three days.

I logged off MobileMe on my Mac, since the account status info was blank there, now I cannot log in again. So no sync on my primary Mac. How handy.

Mine doesn't come up for renewal until October. I have unchecked the auto-renew box. I'll decide in October whether I feel it's worth the $99 anymore. I'm leaning towards "No."

Now it lets me log on, but says I have an individual account with all the default values. Where's my family account and extra storage? If they've deleted the accounts for my daughters and dad, I will be very pissed.

How the hell did they test this crap? With 2 users?

Testing something is like admitting that you probably did it wrong. Only sissies bother with QA.

With all the secrecy going around I wonder if Apple does any testing outside the walls of 1 Infinity Loop.

Nah -- you just blame it on the IT department -- they get away with everything, like wizards.

Still can't change my allegedly bad credit card info on MobileMe, many in the same straits. And my account is supposed to renew Tuesday. I fully believe, in this ongoing clusterfuck, that Apple will automatically delete all my iDisk data, contacts, and bookmarks, and then sync the changes down to my systems ensuring that I lose the data permanently.

MobileMe web apps are accessible for me, but I cannot send or receive mail through Mail.app or iPhone. Whatever was screwed up, was screwed up BAD. If The Steve doesn't have heads roll for this, it will be a sign that he really is moving out of a leadership position.

You should turn off MobileMe syncing until your billing problems are resolved.

Note to self: Feel very happy I never got .Mac

Anyone noticing the google ads at the bottom of the page?

John,

Your data doesn't get dumped as soon as your account expires. It does get dumped at some point, but you've got a while.

Let me see who I can contact in .Mac--er--MobileMe land to take a look at that issue.....

So how are you supposed to get into MobileMe? I don't see a login link anywhere.
