ddt,

I've used Matt before: http://www.easymacsupport.com/

He did some repairs on out of warranty items for a school client. He has all the apple certifications, was good with communication and had reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Thanks! Apple recommended Mobile Kangaroo (sorry, ARL, local SF thing I guess) but their Berkeley store never answers the phone. I'll give Matt a call.

Maybe it's some ex-pats? Better than say, Mobile Koala.

Called him, said he was on a service call, asked me to text him, so I did (mentioned your recommendation, Mokers), haven't heard back.

Thanks, Mokers! EasyMac showed up today, pried out my swollen batteries (he said he'd never seen all cells in such bad shape), replaced it with new ones, laptop seems just about back to normal. It's just money (and less than a new laptop).

If I ever start up a punk-indie-rock-metal band, that will be its name...

Good to hear ddt! The price is worth it for the on-site service.

The thylacine is my spirit animal.

Is that because you finally caught up on your William Gibson reading? They're in his most recent novel.

Damn, does he have a new one out? I missed it.

No, just always dug them, drew them as a kid. Something cool about a misunderstood probably-extinct "tiger" beast with a weird name that not a lot of people had heard of, I guess. Wild Kratts (PBS kids show) also had an episode with them, which was weirdly heavy since they were helping animals they knew were going to go extinct. Platypus were cool in my book too.

Taking the Gibson to Books.

Dingo Ring-o.

As a kid, I found this comic book, Dingo Lingo, put out shortly after the Azaria Chamberlain "dingo stole my baby" hoopla in Australia. I was maybe 8 when that happened so really had no understanding of the politics of the event. As a kid, I just found the cartoons funny...

Anyhoo, I found that old book cleaning up a few years back. Those cartoons were sooo way far too inappropriate. Like bad, really bad.
