Can anyone explain tabs in Word (2004) to me?

I'm trying to make a form with, for example, lines for name and address. I want "Name:" and "Address:" to be right-justified (the colons should be aligned), followed by a space to fill in the name and address. I can't seem to do it. This is for a printed form, BTW, so I don't need any fancy fill-in-the-blank-electronically magic.

there may be a preference hidden in there that turns sequential tabs into bulleted lists?

my own Q: i have a logitech mx500 (non-wireless) -- its scroll wheel is losing the ability to scroll up in a window. any quick tips on this (cleaning, etc.) short of disassembly?

I've been in that hell.

Hint: the TABS, INDENTATION & ALIGNMENT (paragraph) all reset on RETURN but NOT NEWLINE. You might have to resort ot a hanging indent (negative indent) and justifying the paragraph...

If you want to really go crazy you can through kerning and manully instert white space of fraqactionally font sizes too.

NOTE TO APPLE: Make a VISUAL PAGE LAYOUT TOOL that will do CSS or HTML on the fly and they world will thank you !

Still looking for feedback on monitoring Windows printers. The issue is that a client needs to print an order on the printer in the warehouse area of their business. Ideally they would never print a duplicate (because somebody might pick up the paperwork and ship the order a second time) and also they would like to know that the print job actually occurred and that the printer did not produce an error. Probably they need to review their workflow processes as well.

What type of monitoring do you want to do, usually Windows will report back the error but not always. As a result I would have them consider re-working their process to either have the orders printed and delivered or to put a terminal or cheap computer in the warehouse to all them to print and log it as being processed.

I purchased all 3 seasons of "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations" and a season pass for this year. It ate up all the space on my hard drive, which is making it hard to rip my "Trinity Blood" DVDs so i can watch them on my ipod. I decided to free up the space by burning "No Reservations" and the two seasons of Venture Bros. to data DVD. I am getting 50% failure rate burning on my Gen 1 Mac Mini 1.42 GHz G4 - 1GB RAM. The DVDs are HP DVD+R 16x LightScribe. (I am burning the label side on my laptop.) Is there a way to get better burn rate?

Dropping to 12X seems to fix it. Picked up a 50 disk spindle of LightScribe DVDs at OfficeMax for $25 Saturday night, changed the burn speed to 12X and the last two I needed to burn went without a hitch.

New problem. or maybe old one, i don't remember if i posted this. My 2001 dual USB 500MHz iBook needs a new Airport card, and a new DVD drive. What would be a good price for both of these? I can install the Airport card, but I would like a slot loading ComboDrive to replace the broken DVD drive.

To the Photogs out there.

I'm trying to find a bag to lug my new camera around in, but I don't want to advertise to thieves that I have a 6-large item in an easily grab-able package.

any suggestions?

I'm already planning on wrapping the Pentax in a layer of gaffers tape to try to fool the casual observer into thinking its crap. Would that work with the bag as well?

How bad an area do you plan on using the camera in? Gaffer's tape? That kinda works to make bikes ugly, but I'm worry that you'd so screw-up camera's ergonomic that it would be unusable.

Stan, I'm thinking about my (now delayed) trip to the Yucatan. Maybe I shouldn't be so paranoid, I'll only be there a few days, and I'll likely rent my own vehicle while down there (so no public transportation.) Gaffers tape might indeed screw p the camera, but painters tape would work for a short time.

I noticed the crumpler line, but the 'bucks line didn't seem to have anything that would include my laptop. Perhaps I'll have to leave it at home.

Get the bag, keep it cinched up to you. You just want to avoid the "clueless newbie" look that tends to draw thieves like honey draws flies. All cameras look pretty alike to petty thieves -- quick money.

Crumpler has some sweet "inserts" for their bigger messenger bags that will handle laptops and cameras, but that gets quite pricey.

There is probably more "theft based on value" on college campuses -- kids can surf ebay to determine what is worth stealing.

I think crumpler has taken up niches where timbuk2 has decided to stay a bit more mass market. Lately I've been commuting with skater backpacks -- much less sloppy fit than traditional messenger bags or regular laptop bags. Might not be the best choice for camera, as you can't really whip the thing around en route.
