Cheers to you all. Today, somewhat surprisingly and to my great astonishment, I'm back up in my chair.

The pressure mark (which is finally starting to heal) quite fortuitously sits in the gap between the seat cushion and the wheelchair backrest. I think I originally ended up with the pressure mark from too much time sitting/lying in the bed with the backrest raised (I'd often fall asleep with the backrest up - esp if I'd had a nightcap). Anyhow, lesson learned...

That's why I sleep attached to a complicated harness of helium balloons. I never touch the mattress. Though the night my wife switched the ceiling fan on resulted in some centripetal force-related bruising.

centripetal force-related bruising.

Sounds like a complicated name for fapping.

If one is encountering significant centripetal force whilst enjoying the delights of solitary stimulation, one is doing it wrong. NTTAWWT.

I was amazed at how quickly I developed bed sores. And how SLOWLY they take to heal. Mine developed in a week, and probably took a year for the final little scab/scar to not be prevalent.
Ate at a Chipotle today. Hard seats. Brought back memories of the sores.

That conveys the most comical image in my head... (complete with a whump, whump, whump! sound effect)

I don't think anything would help me. I have the world's softest skin. Everything lacerates me, etc. I get blisters upon blisters. Never callous (verb. to develop callouses) (sp?)

Not a big insurance fan. Claims dude came out. Said the damage was well north of $1,000. Got the official paperworks. Said $366. Deductible is $500.
So, I'm out there (was out there) on top of my barn, cutting off/down half a tree. I actually do a pretty good job for a lame-o.
:)
Now, to get my kids to pick it all up. It's cut-up, just needs bagged and stacked. (twigs vs logs)
Great, great weather out today. I've got ducks/ies that follow me around now. They are cute. But should I die, not sure they can feed themselves now.

Time to get rid of the iMac G3 Ruby, iMac G3 Indigo, eMac 1Ghz, and iMac G5 1.8.
Are any of them even WORTH tossing onto eBay? I don't think so.

Yeah, they fall into that valley between vintage and useful.

Much closer to vintage today, at this particular moment. And that equates to trash.
Oh well. First time I opened up an eMac. Can't believe how buried the HD is on those.

My MIL's Core Duo iMac juuuust falls outside of useful now that she's on iCloud. Couldn't be helped, she was using Mobile Me. I cobbled iCal sync onto 10.6 but that's about as far as I can take it, and 10.7 requires a Core 2 Duo. Decent run, I suppose, but she was almost weaned onto the iPad for 100% of her needs. Guess a 13" MBA is the next logical step.

Good God, my Core 2 Duo iMac - which only seemed brand new shiny a few years ago - is now the bare minimum specs for 10.7 & 10.8.

Where did that 3 1/2 years go?

I just picked up an iBook G4 1.33 from my mom. She wants me to clean it up so my 9 year old niece can use it.

It has 512MB RAM right now. Apparently these have 256MB soldered to the motherboard and have a single PC-2100 SO-DIMM slot that will accept up to a 1GB module.

I'm looking through my bin here but can't seem to find any PC-2100 SO-DIMMs. Would any of you happen to have one sitting around somewhere? Either a 512MB or 1GB module would be great.

We have an ancient Mac Book Pro where the motherboard just died. I'll check the RAM, if my wife hasn't chucked it. It'd be a fluke if they matched, though, it was recent enough to be Intel.

I will look around some more but I have a 512MB that might still work.

porruka (Admin) – August 19, 2012 04:57PM Reply Quote
That looks the same as my PBG4. I'll see what I have lying around.

I was all set to say that I could help, as I have a 1.33 GHz iBook with 768 MB of RAM that's just sitting around. But I just checked it, and this 12" iBook has 512 MB soldered onto the motherboard; the removable RAM is only 256 MB. Sorry, JW. I'm guessing that your mom's iBook is the 14" model, right?

My beloved 2006 20" iMac, the last of the white iMacs, is now officially over the hill--it's not compatible with Mountain Lion. I'd already replaced it, but I'm keeping it around just for kicks--not surprisingly, the resale price has collapsed in the last year.
