I got hired on at the House of Mud (after 30 months as a contractor from 2005-2012, and going back to the Lazy M Ranch in Redmond).

Congratulations, Mr. Taylor. I look forward to amazing and astonishing products and improvements to products. I hope that this corresponds with an upward trend in your standard of living as well.

So say we all, indeed.
On a smaller scale, the team I worked with at Datafest Stanford over the weekend (http://www.computationalreporting.com/wiki/index.php?title=Team_Most_Excellent) won one of the top three prizes for our project. It was hilarious how all our fried brains were flummoxed by how to split $500 of iTunes gift cards (two $100, six $50) seven ways.
If anyone has tips on how to fix the interactive map size -- needs to be maybe 70% smaller -- and the hover placements, feel free!

Obama is supposed to be at the Honeywell office a few blocks from my house in an hour or so. I'm thinking I should leave for work now or I may have a hard time dealing with traffic.

It may already be too late. The Secret Service shows up early to places where the President will visit. The press, too, for that matter. Also, Columbian hookers.

The streets were lined with police but they didn't have anything blocked off yet so it was fine.

well, you know, there are those that complain Obama's security is far too light...

The rate of record-breaking projects has accelerated since January. Whatever. We're going to be in the next issues of InStyle and Wired. Print isn't dead until I say it is!
We arrived in Austin last evening, where we'll live and die. Seems like a nice place so far. After four years in New England, I appreciate that there is a Southwestern culture, and that I'm back in it.

Congrats on all that and Austin, too. Adaptive Path has an office there, and look up Buds Design Kitchen.
(You know, I had awesome cactus burritos near Porter Sq -- in Cambridge.)

What? Where in Porter? That's where we lived. Never found any Mexican food there.
Think I can pig out at a different taqueria within walking distance every day this week.

Of course, it's no Austin. And it was ages (literally over a decade) ago. Hm, I can't find it on Yelp -- there was a place that was half-bar, half-restaurant, on the left side of Mass Ave as you headed towards Porter, away from Harvard. There was a neon sign in the window that said, "Mexican Food", so that's what we always called it.
And I think the verb you're looking for is "waddle". Sounds fun!

Oh, sounds like Forest Cafe. I ate there once and then it closed (unrelated).

Did it have an iguana in the window? Again, sorry for the vagueness and old information. Hope it was good! And maybe in my memory it was like the case of the talking dog -- it wasn't that the dog spoke well, but that it spoke at all.
Again, if you ever want a design connection, an old friend teaches design at UT Austin (that's the Buds connection).

Can't remember... just went there once years ago. It was promising, I remember.
When I need some designers or just ready to network, I'll bug you on that. For now, the pressing need is still Python/web developers.

Did you ever email me a one- or two-paragraph listing of what you need for that? I can forward it to the I School email list and see who's available.
