Madness. I run along the canal regularly from March to November. The shootings took place within a block of the law school.

On my run this morning, I noted three "for sale" signs that weren't there ten days ago by the condos along the canal. Hmm.

well, it's spring. We've got a lot of people prepping to move here, too. That was just a kickstarter. Wonder if they get commissions? lol

Went on my first spring run. I hate running. Freakin' hot out. Think I earned ice cream.

Speaking of moving, going to Austin come June-ish. I already hate my future kids for being Texan, but it's one of those places I always wanted to check out. Seems to have all the things I love about the Southwest, plus culture.

Austin and driving-distance area is nice. Not sure why being Texan is an offense, though. Not sure living in Austin is being Texan. ;)

The phrase I heard was "Austin is in Texas, but on planet Earth."

Being the capital, my Texan friend assures me Austin's an interesting mix of Classic Texas and San Francisco. I look forward to being back in a place where I'm not the most conservative person.

I think my kids being Texan will be great, but their superiority complex will just be insufferable for me.

I did say it'd be a great thing for them, right? They'll have the confidence to break the laws of science. That's where innovation comes from. Or fundamentalism. Whatever.

I've been eyeing Austin. Reno and Nevada are dying in this economy, and a lot of my company's engineering jobs are going to China. But I couldn't sell my house, and my wife wouldn't go for a re-location without a job at the other end. She might not even go for a move to Texas under any circumstances.

Austin is great. It drops off to nothing... oh wait, you're in Nevada ... it's great.
