Okay, I'm going to the Super Bowl. The price is outrageous, even without the need for airfare and lodging, but this is a once-in-a-lifetime moment: a chance to see the team I grew up rooting for in a Super Bowl in my hometown. Moments like this have to be seized if at all possible.

I've never really been a football fan but even I think that's pretty cool, Jeff. Enjoy!

Tom, I just bought tickets to take my kids to the NFL Experience this Sunday afternoon (entering at 2 p.m.). Would you please let me know if you'll be there, and, if so, where you'll be? Thanks.

There's not an APP for that?

Hey Jeff,

I'm going to be at NFLX for the whole time.

PM me for my cell phone. I'll be all over the place. I've been averaging over 7 miles walking per day.

Pretty much all of the freestanding LCDs and LED walls are what we've set up over the last four days, if you're curious what we were responsible for.

Look forward to meeting you in person!

Sent you a PM.

At Stanford at the #hackd hackathon. Very poor choice of hash tag, apparently!

They made this a competition, perhaps because they're so close to venture capital. I'm not sure this was a good idea; everybody now seems stressed, and not trying to be creative (an organizer actually said "we want stuff out of the box") for its own sake and joy, but because one team might WIN!!11! (And the prizes? You "get" more time at Stanford.)

I saw this a couple of days ago--fantastic story (and video). My son, who is a Lego fanatic, was blown away.

On another note, it was great to meet Tom at the NFL Experience today--a necessarily brief encounter under the circumstances (he was working, I was with kids), but given that we've both been on this board and its predecessors for a long, long time, very enjoyable. We met under a sign showing a knife and fork--sadly, no spork.

Son and I popped down, too. A bit chilly for me over extended period of time. Brrrr.
I wish I had felt good enough to grab some grub from one of the food trucks on the North half of the circle.

Super Bowl XLVI Food Truck Event on Monument Circle.
Quick and affordable food on Indy's two busy weekends. 23 food trucks offer cuisine in split shifts, 11 AM-4 PM and 5-10 PM, Jan. 27-29 and Feb. 2-5, on the Circle and north spoke of W. Market St. A Super Bowl first. Info: 317-631-2947.
Location: Monument Circle, Northwest Quadrant, Indianapolis, Marion County.

Surprisingly, Circle Center mall in the main areas was not that congested. Food court was a bit above average traffic. But I've seen worse. $5 parking at Henry (st?) and whatever, just north of Lilly HQ. Today is first time I've seen the big Rolls-Royce signage on the one building, too. Not sure when that went up.

The (new-ish) JW Marriott hotel looks FANTASTIC with the full-height Superbowl treatment. That had to cost a pretty penny!

So this is what I did all weekend, from Friday night to mid-Sunday: http://dschool.stanford.edu/blog/2012/01/29/d-diy/

Actually, this image is deceptive. The design and layout (and images) was all my friend Dina, mocking it up in two hours in Photoshop. We tried to manage a random team of newbies but failed in keeping on-task and timely, so there was a ton of scope creep and dead ends; we should have just picked one feature/tool on Friday and coded. As it ended up, three people got enthused about making a very limited mobile version and when presenting I had to try to sell our main idea (a tool that allows anyone to create a design thinking course, using inspirations and elements from anywhere) while showing photos of sketches. We did not win the competition.

slightly different. We watched last night's Top Gear UK. They had will.i.am on. He mentioned making the case for starting (his) new car company in his old as he put it ghetto to help out his old neighborhood.

Yes, I've seen that clip before. Hilarious. Unfortunately, there is a grain of truth in the Fox report; the government is cutting back the number of 'coffeeshops' it allows to operate. Sadly, they use all kinds of dirty tactics to do so. A 'coffeeshop' can't be in the vicinity of a school (like 250 meters or so), which is silly in itself, if not were it for the accounting methods (empty and temporary school buildings are being counted). At the same time, the number of fast food joints and snack cars are skyrocketing, mostly in front of the schools! All while again and again it's been proven, criminalisation doesn't work! Sadly we have had conservative governments ever since Pim Fortuyn rose to fame, so we've been in decline ever since.

What really is the truth is the fact that brothels have been thriving on women that are mostly working against their will. From that perspective the changes are welcome. They closed down a number of high profile and less high profile brothels in and around the red light district in Amsterdam.

But come on, a cesspool?
