What a journey.
I come back from visiting my mom, who has been having problems, and find out my cousin had massive heart attack and is not doing very well. :(

One of my bride's brothers was presented some big award there yesterday and then got a plane back here for the wedding.

Sorry, Jeffe. Your family's had more than its share of health issues, to say the least.

It was nice. They removed the tractor from the lobby before the reception started. Heh.

Darn. My cousin passed. I'm glad I went to see him last night. He was a good guy.

Condolences, Bill. This has not been a good set of years for you. Hug your kids (if you can keep them in one place for a few seconds).

What a journey.
Three years ago, when I was out on medical leave for my fun stuff, my team got their laptops/notebooks replaced. When I returned, months later, I looked to get mine updated ... "Sorry, we have cost cutting ... blah blah"...

Long story short, today I lept-frogged (?) my team. Got a nice newER i5 Dell....

You have never seen Windows XP rock like this puppy......

yes, the whole point of this post is just to shake my head that we are still on XP. LMFAO!

We're starting our XP to Win7 migration now. 98% of our systems are still XP, though.

Wow. There's an article in there somewhere. This is sad.

We skipped Vista at work. I can't remember the rollout date, but I think we've been on Win 7 for less than a year. We were stuck on Acrobat 5 and Explorer 5 or 6 until then, too.

Sorry to hear about your loss Bill.

About the other stuff; currently managing an XP to Windows 7 project at the customer where I'm at. Vista wasn't even considered.

Still doing xp at a few clients because of software requirements. Windows 7 transitions have been going on for about a year or so.

I never thought vista was that bad. Whenever I installed it on new hardware, it was fine. Microsoft just didn't have very good uprage paths and it was shit on older hardware.

TOTALLY random thought that popped into my head.

Lex Luthor is Seinfeld, and Superman is Newman. Just so every time Superman shows up, Lex can say, "Superman!" in that Newman tone. (Go look up the opening titles to Superman: The Animated Series and see if you can place where that'd happen.)
