Absolutely. I still owe you one for shipping that Commodore stuff to me a few years ago.

Yes, let's try to get together tonight. I don't have your number, though. I'll send you a PM with mine.

Sorry we weren't able to make it last night, ddt, we ended up having dinner with family in Napa.

No worries and thanks for even considering it. It was more disturbing that few faculty and students were at my talk (there were two others at the same time). Tough to do it right when there's such a low energy in the room.

Yes, it was cool meeting Mokers. I can check another Sporker off my list now.

Agh, sorry dudes, I didn't think of checking PMs here and I don't have it set to alert me w/ a real email.
Thanks, JK. The questions the judges asked seemed to indicate I hadn't made the point totally clear. What I was trying to do is discover affordances that'd encourage information sharing in adult, out-of-school people who do NOT want to social netwrok. And they kept asking, "Well, if you allowed people to set up groups of friends so they could chat... ." I did not win an award -- three out of the five projects in my track did.
Not sure I'm going to follow up on this but here:

Meh, it's done with. Now to figure out how to get to HIIT in Finland.

I'm on my way to SF early tomorrow morning, but it's for a stupidly short trip that will have me in the city for only 36 hours. If anyone happens to be in the area of Union Square on Tuesday around lunchtime, give me a shout; otherwise, I'll plan my next trip better.

On my way back to Indy after a short and strange trip. Sorry I couldn't meet up with anyone; next trip, perhaps.

What a journey.
a few hours to clean up one small bedroom has somehow become a bill/lawsuit for twice the value of the house. Mom to lose house. I LOVE the USA!

Buh? How the hell did that escalate so far? Is she losing the house for sure or is there hope for fighting whatever it is? I hope it all works out.
I'm seriously worried that I'm going to be on the unpleasant side of layoffs in the next few days, myself.

I don't know. My parents never discussed their finances around us growing up. They never wanted to burden us with that kind of talk. Tonight she was so distraught.
I know the basic premise. I just can't for the life of me contemplate one person doing a handful of hours of work, and in six short years and 4 days, I find out she'll be signing some papers at the bank next week.
She just had a stroke and isn't even talking coherently compared to beforehand. This bites. sigh. Again, I wish I was the drinking type...

Um, I'm not following this story properly.
Your mother was paying someone to clean her house a few hours a week?
Said person injured themselves at your mother's house?

Ya I must have missed this too, what exactly went on? I want to make sure I protect myself (though I think my homeowners insurance has coverage for this now, but should double check).
