So, when do you expect to see the next 21-slot G5 subnotebook with built-in antigravity? Or do you have other things to complain about regarding the Mac rum0rz press?

I'd like to see them run in a way that would make the existence of the Gates Foundation not seem like such a bizarro world influence. I'd like to see them take an honest step back and figure out how the company can exist in a way that will simultaneously make money and improve the world. If that means accepting lower market share in one field in lieu of responsible corporate citizenship, so be it. Ballmer represents raw greed. He embodies the stereotype of the brash, unrefined, greedy American. He doesn't just make shitty products, he makes a bad impression.

I absolutely agree, CS. Well said.

So, is .Mac's new name going to be me.com?

What a journey.
sure, someone named Matthew Yohe would think it was me.com. (spanish YO = english ME)

If only I had the foresight to buy me.com in 1996 when I first started buying domain names :(

I've always wondered why the internet has not moved away from DOS syntax (dot three letters). I mean, the common man never understood the need or reason for DOT COM, so why not just drop it? Now, it's gotten even more complicated. Seems silly.

What, .aero, .asia, .coop, .info, .jobs, .mobi, .museum, .name and .travel not good enough for you?

Not to mention the .example, .invalid, .localhost, .test, .arpa and .root...

So, the Apple store "ran out" of iPhones on May 10th... exactly 30 days before the expected release of the new iPhone at WWDC. Maybe this was intentional since there are all these rumors about the new model being significantly cheaper. They don't want to have another set of angry over-paying customers like they did after the early price drop last year.

Maybe ... geeze it's annoying though with the cone of silence and all... what other industry does this?

-- Gee I'd like to buy a Prius today
-- Here -- read all about it but you can't order one because we don't have any.
-- Well when can I buy one?
-- Can't say.

Actually rino the smart car companys DO somthing very similar. Honda is WELL KNOWN for "managing demand" -- the Odyssey & MDX were in 'short supply' for years after their into.

Price cut for iPhone??? That would be HUGE. Wonder if the pricing of the new iPhone might be less than iPod Touch + $100, that would make for some tough choices if they shrunk the premium ...

I guess. My Mini Cooper S was a three month wait but that was BTO. I had no problem... I knew when it was arriving. In this case the average Apple customer knows bupkis.

In other words, Mini/BMW did not lose my business to a competitor. AAPL just may have lost some customers to RIMM, et. al. due to this blank stare.

Ooh! Scary! Scary! Don't we look mean? You can't see me! But I can see you!
Any confirmation on rumors for Apple's special event today? In other words, anybody hear anything other than there's an event today and it may include an iPod rev and/or mac stuff?

If they don't have a tablet/UMPC Mac (and I don't expect one), then I am buying an Aspire one and Hackintoshing it.

What? http://www.macrumors.com/2008/09/17/unlikely-macbook-pro-photo-circulates/

Makes no sense. No camera?!? Latchless? Funky MacBook style keyboard, giant trackpad? I smallish hands and I cannot image where I'd rest while typing/mousing with that thing...
