Polished up my grammar a bit...

Since there was no real thread for useless but nonetheless
interesting links I thought I'd create one.

I object to the headline I saw on CNN, "NASA launching a rocket at Cape Canaveral for a space station resupply mission." It sounds like NASA is bombarding the Kennedy Space Center.

What a journey.
yeah, saw that the other day. IMO this is what makes the internet great. I want it to have jumped on one of the cow's back and have it rear up on its hind legs, chattering its teeth together like a yippee kay yay !

People who know real estate and investment and protections: is this a bad idea, or the worst idea? http://a16z.com/2016/09/13/point/

Probably a bad idea for the homeowner - they share the upside, but are responsible for all the downside. It would probably also raise housing prices, which would be bad for a number of reasons. It might be good for an investor though.

What happens if the startup goes under? Who's liable? Who inherits the loan terms? Who is the controlling regulatory agency?

The startup owns a % of individual people's property, not their loans. If the startup fails, that property ownership transfers to the startup's investors / creditors just like any other asset.

I can just imagine walking out my front door to meet a group of investors nagging me to re-paint the garage and to put down some new sod.

I kind of love a lot about this article. Snark about the Wright Flier, that there was a plane named the Airacuda (or maybe "Francis Ford Cupola").

ETA not to mention the plane with an actual nuclear reactor onboard, and the XFV-1 Salmon, which I have always loved for how Thunderbirds and insane it is.
