Polished up my grammar a bit...

Since there was no real thread for useless but nonetheless
interesting links I thought I'd create one.

All in for Luke Cage. Sweet Christmas!

But you should watch that with the sound -- the mixin of the John Williams theme is technically very good, matches the visual cues very well, and gives me happy nerd tears.

I hope Luke Cage lives up to the hype. Looking forward to Jessica Jones Season 2 as well.

Yeah, it's about relatable superheroes at the moment. Jessica Jones is the best. Eager to see how they'll top the best villain ever.

I have, now. I think that I've seen too many bad Superman movies to be vulnerable to the weeps. And Supergirl (without ever having seen her show or read her comics) just seems like an after-the-fact attempt to tape modern sensibilities onto Superman's essentially 1950's gestalt.

And don't get me started on Krypto...

The Supergirl show is terribly flawed, but there are moments that are great (and the woman they cast is really, actually good). I guess it's in a big rebound response to fucking BvS. Seeing the crossover with Flash where they get along was great.

I've always liked the Supergirl actress, when I saw her on interview shows.

Do your kids like puppies? Look up the video where they ask her questions while handing her more puppies.

Yeah, she is utterly charming, but also seems to act with her whole body, which is non-trivial. The show sort-of adapted "For The Man Who Has Everything" and there's a critical moment of body acting (I think you know, if you know the story) and she totally sells it without doing anything dramatic like looking up at the sky and yelling "nooooo!". But you can tell the shit she's gone through and how much it cost her. It's maybe a second or two, but it's brilliant.

Well, the ad I saw (on MacRumors) shows Supergirl, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Jane the Virgin, all of which are totally worth watching.

This is getting to be ridiculous. A REPLACEMENT Samsung Galaxy Note filled a plane cabin with smoke. Clearly a fundamental design flaw persists.

Talking about school and kids getting ready for earning.

Watched this. Pretty cool idea high school readiness for employment.
No tuition. She mentions kids make more than any teacher in her school.
$65,000 potential salary out of HS and with the Assoc degree.

Interesting. Though that raises the question of what school is for. Is it to train new workers for particular jobs? Or to allow people to learn how to learn/become exposed to ideas/find new things to care about/learn to think critically/become good citizens? Or a mix of all that?
