Ouch. Does this mean you're at least not part of the "now" crowd?

What a journey.
Had our cattle-herding mass local meetings today.
Will likely know my INDIVIDUAL fate on May 17th.
Then, big guy said "NEVER get comfortable with your employment" after that point forward.

Casually mention that you own a scoped rifle. I've found that they are less likely to pester me with patronizing advice after that. Although they DO tend to pester me with SWAT teams.

You spend a lot of time swatting SWAT teams?

I study them. I'm swotting SWAT teams.

My neighbor writes SWAT books. Books for SWAT teams.
Today my group was told we are 'safe'. We are too lean and too good, I guess.

Well, I do believe you're lean, yes...

Yes, yesterday was big sigh of relief. But it's going to be ugly (for other folks).

Don't put too much trust in promises of safety. I've seen "safe" groups decimated before.

What a journey.
Agreed. It came with the most common fine print disclaimers. (eg - In as much as I will remain your boss, I can assure you that you are safe for the foreseeable future)
That's as good as I have EVER received in my 16+ years there.

Homo Sapiens Sedentarius
I've been putting in 50 to 60 hour work weeks for months, trying to get a game ready to ship. Last week I was sick and on antibiotics and only put in 8 hour days through Wednesday. Thursday, my team leader came by my cube and told me that "we" would really have to knuckle down and put in more effort. In trying to inspire me, he managed to both show that my previous effort was utterly unnoticed and unappreciated and that 60 hours a week with reduced benefits, no raise, no overtime, and no bonus was not enough of a contribution.
