I have the 5A345 firmware and the UI lag is present on mine as well. I suspect it has something to do with the push services running in the background. I'm curious whether the 3G hardware has a faster CPU or anything. Maybe the issues aren't a problem on it.

I gots no lag. Perhaps it is because I have WiFi off?

I get the lag whether WiFi is on or off.

Are you syncing with an Exchange server?

MLB.com At Bat is amazing.

If you're a baseball fan, this app is a must-have. Live box scores from all the games and high quality video footage of the key plays.

AIM has a decent interface but the fact that you can't leave yourself logged in (like you could on a Sidekick) is a bummer.

I like the eBay app. Haven't played with it too much yet.

Wingnuts MotoRacer is fun. Takes some practice to avoid over-compensating with the accelerometer-based steering.

YPMobile is exactly what I've been waiting for. Location-aware Yellow Pages. If it were only voice-activated like Microsoft's Live Search for Windows Mobile, it would be perfect.

NetNewsWire works exactly as you would expect it to. Very clean interface. I really like it.

There are still some significant problems with the firmware, though. I've had apps crash a couple of times and just now, the entire phone reset itself when I launched NetNewsWire. I'm going to try and get my hands on a 3G phone in the morning so we'll see if things are any different/more stable there.

Push IMAP and contacts does not seem to be working for me yet. Configured it for MobileMe, but eh, not working yet.

Got contacts to Sync with MobileMe once, just not auto updating as it is set to do.

CS,

I am using an Exchange Server. Push contacts working.

MLB at bat is a game-changing type of app(pun intended). NFL and NBA should find some way to replicate the same features.

okay, 2.0 firmware installed, now it is just trying to access the store for some reason. I know their servers are busy, but until it does what ever it wants, I can't resync all of my music and such. no idea if it lost my email accounts, etc.

I'm in line at the Reno Apple store. Line is as long as it was for the first one. More women this time. BTW, editing a Spork entry is much more annoying with the 2.0 firmware.

T-Mobile opened a store in Rotterdam at 0:00 to celebrate the arrival of the iPhone in the Netherlands. The 500 phones it had were sold out immediately, the rest of the country sold out at around 12:00 today. Lots of hype here too.

touch owners, apparently Apple's issues is making them fail to charge for the 2.0 update today. I downloaded it with logging in.

click restore. Thats what I did. let it back up, install, and connect to itunes store (eventually). You will have to resynch all of your music etc.
