That's a feature. You already have the Jesus phone, you shouldn't be looking at any false phones.

In general, the 2.0 firmware seems slower. I'm hoping this gets ironed out before July 11th.

Maybe the new phones are equipped to handle it better?

I was irritated for a moment today because I thought the iPhone had suddenly duplicated all of my contacts. I had this happen in the early days of Windows Mobile syncing and thought that Apple might have made the same mistakes Microsoft did back then. But then I realized that, not only wasn't it a mistake, it was a feature.

They're turning on MobileMe features. You can sync both MobileMe contacts as well as Exchange contacts on the iPhone and it just shows them all side-by-side. You can choose to view them separately if you want but by default it shows them all in a combined list (it does not, however, sync between MobileMe and Exchange... no cross-contamination). I just turned off the MobileMe contacts for now.

They do the same thing for calendars, though, which is a good thing for me. That way I can keep personal calendar information (birthdays, etc.) on my home computers and work-related stuff on Exchange without having to limit myself to one or the other on my phone.

I still can't just delete something from the calendar on the phone. There also doesn't seem to be a "snooze" option... when I get an alert saying that I have a meeting in 15 minutes, I'd like to be able to hit "snooze" like I do on my desktop or my old WinMo phone so that it reminds me again 5 minutes before the meeting begins.

Someone sent me an email with some jpegs attached. Trying to scroll through them locked up the phone until it eventually rebooted itself. I hope they release a new build soon. We're getting close to release day. I'd hate to think that issues like my Bluetooth problem won't get fixed before release.

Is it possible there using a different bluetooth adapter and it's not a problem on the new phones?

It wouldn't be hardware-specific. It's a software problem. It works fine with the headset profile but the handsfree profile has issues.

Oh, THAT's what that button does.

BTW, the iPhone mailing list at Microsoft gets about 25-30 emails a day. Quite a bit more when things are announced. It gets more action than Macintosh Technical Discussion (mactech), which has been around for ages.

It's good to read that not just the Corey's never grew up after Lost Boys. OK, Feldman maybe did. But WTF... It's a freakin' fone!

Only semi-believable. She may have said something, but really, that is why high priced stars have agents, who then hands it off to the assistant to do most of the dirty work.

If you follow the link in the article to Defamer, it sounds more like they were joking rather than really trying to play the Jack Bauer card.

Hey, Tom,

I'm going to pre-write an iPhone 3G/iPhone 2.0 review for Friday. I would write it for earlier release but I don't want to get in trouble for NDA stuff since I'm technically basing it on what I've learned while using the developer firmware. I also want to wait until I have the 3G hardware in my hands so I can make any last-minute changes before publishing.

Is that cool with you?

You know, I was wondering about how the subsidized pricing was going to work for people who sold their first-gen iPhone as soon as the 3G model was announced (the guy who I got mine from, for example). Looks like they might be screwed.
