I just got my $99 Nano third generation yesterday. I LOVE IT. It's worked for hours, and hours with the out-of-the-box charge.

What a journey.

I picked up a refurbished 1 gig shuffle from the Apple web-store for $35 2 weeks ago. My first iPod and its been fantastic.

the 512 mb shuffle gen 1 is what I started with for $29. I have three now. But I just got frustrated because they do not sync podcasts.

So, I picked up a $59 1GB nano 1st gen. Love it. Got my wife the 2GB. She now says it's not holding charge very well. But the 3rd gen nano I just got blows them all away, imo. $99 at buy.com about 10 days ago or so. I just can't believe that little thing can hold all that video and the screen is fantastic. Still have no idea what the RADIO menu is.

Ruth's Chris is one of the best dining experiences to be had--even with the fact they are a chain!

Excellent service. I recommend the Filet, Ribeye and/or the seared tuna. The asparagus with hollandaise sauce as a side is wonderful too. I love the scalloped spinach and au gratin potaters too.

There was an ad in MacWorld for MacUpdatePromo which says that they will be selling an app bundle beginning April 16th for $64.99 which will include the following:

Parallels Desktop - normally $80
Sound Studio - normally $80
Leap - normally $60

Looks like a pretty good deal. I think it supposed to be available around midnight tonight. The ad gives a URL of http://mupromo.com/mw for it but that URL just redirects to their current item page right now.

Yeah, I don't get it. Doesn't that completely screw the resellers who stock these things at the normal prices?

FLL, you need to negotiate Most Favored Nation clauses with those vendors.

Sound Studio is unlocked once they sell 5,000 bundles.
BannerZest gets unlocked once they sell 10,000 bundles.
Parallels Desktop gets unlocked once they sell 15,000 bundles.

There's also the MacHeist Bundle which, for $49, doesn't look like it has anything I need or want.

Awaken - normally $13 (I already have an alarm clock with an iPod dock... much more convenient than software)
Cha-Ching - normally $40 (Okay, maybe I SHOULD do something to manage my money.)
CoverSutra - normally $23 (why would anyone pay $23 for an iTunes controller?)

MacUpdate Promo just added WhatSize to the pot for the first 3,500 people who buy the bundle.

They've only sold about 2,400 of them so far so It's looking like they won't be able to hit the 15,000 bundle target to unlock Parallels... except now they're saying that 15,000 isn't the actual target anyway. From their FAQ:

The early numbers given in the receipts were wrong. It was a bug and it was listing the numbers from a previous bundle. The actual milestones for BannerZest and Parallels are not known currently and will be revealed only after the previous locked app is opened. So once Sound Studio is unlocked the milestone to reach BannerZest will be revealed and once BannerZest is unlocked the Parallels milestone will be revealed.

I think they might arbitrarily lower the targets based on how well the bundle sells (or doesn't sell). I imagine they could add more "bonus" apps to the bundle going forward as well.

So what do you think? Sign of the economy of all of the mac users bought Parallels already? Maybe everyone is waiting for version 4 later in the year?

(I only say that because Parallels is obviously the biggest draw in the app set)
