Cool-looking hardware, and I'm sure you've kept it in great condition, but what are those paper things you slide into it? Do they have embedded digital media or something????

ddt

LOL... it's not just the paper things, there are plastic things too. I've heard it's a great way to transcode physical to digital.

Apple refurb store loaded up.
Cheapest Mac Minis I've seen... starting at $469.

I personally think the dual core i7 for $759 with GPU is the best deal/power priced one, though.

it's not the same once they took out the optical drive. wtf? it was the perfect media center until then…

We rarely use optical media for entertainment purposes. Unless we are lazy or someone other than myself does it.

bahamut – February 23, 2012 04:52AM Reply Quote
It's the only optical drive I use. For ripping CDs.

They still make these things? Or left-over stock? Perhaps FLL knows?

As far as I'm aware, these are still being produced.

They still make them. I just bought a set last month. I think the 2001 aesthetic now qualifies as "retro."

What do you think of Coda2? Seems to be getting very mixed reviews in the app store.

ddt – May 25, 2012 09:23AM Reply Quote
Bruce, I really want to like it and I feel most of my response to it is due to my not knowing, you know, how to code. Some of the features are brilliant, like being able to have a mini-file browser in the breadcrumbs. But the autocomplete seems odd? I don't know if that's how it's supposed to work, but I find myself having to mouse or backspace after a tag name (Coda 2 auto-enters a space after, say, "li").
