I guess for the "what sell computers most" crowd that now extends to bizarro looking audio cards/connectors and multi-driver headsets. Do these thing actually help a gamer localize the other members of his "fire team" or what have you? I'm getting old...

Nah, you're not getting old--just wise. This thing is a gimmick IMO. 7.1 in a two speaker system? Riiiiight.

I thought adding a mic to most sets was complicated. These look ridiculously complicated for a set of headphones.

I got a great compact wireless Logitech mouse from Staples for $13. Has three or four buttons and good for traveling. Alas the dongle.
