$7500. How many Dell Mini 9s is that? :)
36. wow.
Is there a DM9-to-TAM conversion kit? Pop the DM9 guts into the plastics of a TAM.

I got my TAM for $1700 from an Apple reseller; I had to pick it up myself. I didn't mind.

I need a Mac Plus (or any Mac with the old phone cord-style keyboard). Anybody have one they want to part with?

EDIT: It doesn't need to be functional.

CS--Let me check at home--I may have an extra Fat Mac (if my wife didn't throw it out).

Desperately resisting the temptation to bid on that lot ...

Just in case you might possibly want one to tinker with.

Thanks for the pointer, Bill, but I'm pretty well set on the G4 front with my Cube and a Powerbook. I do occasionally look around for a dirt cheap G3 tower (preferably the beige one), but thanks to some imminent events (to be addressed, I'm sure, in future postings on "Love Stinks"), my Mac playroom is likely to become a thing of the past.

Which reminds me, Cloudscout, that I do in fact have two Fat Macs; I'd be willing to part with one for the cost of shipping. Can't guarantee functionality, although in the unlikely event that I can find a moment of peace I can try to boot them up.

anybody have a video card for a power mac g5 they don't need any more? spending $300 to replace the PSU in mine and found that it blew out the video card also; i'd rather not spend the extra $100.

Mariner Software is having an anniversary sale for the next couple of days: 40 percent off with promo code HB19.

I started using Mariner Write for my class notes about 10 years ago, at a time when Word was much too intrusive in thinking it knew better than I did what I wanted to do with my documents. I still use Mariner Write for that purpose--I find it stable and easy to manage--and I've played around with a couple of other Mariner programs as well.

I hope this is useful to someone.

Mail Service? Round here we got a notice saying they're doing away with it.

So, a client of mine has an XServe RAID that he bought in late 2007. It sat in the box for over a year, and I hooked it up less than a year ago to service his local storage needs.

He bought it with 4 - 500GB drive sleds, for 1.5TB of RAID5 storage.

About the time I was hooking it up, Apple discontinued the XServe, and it became apparent that no hard drive manufacturers were going to make any PATA drives over 750GB.

Shortly after it was up and going, we determined he had more than 1.5TB of storage, so I went looking for upgrades.

Sleds and drives would have cost me almost as much as just building a SATA based RAID from scratch, which is what I ended up doing.

So, now we're looking at the best way to get the most money out of this purchase.

I can part it out on eBay, but he'd rather sell the whole package.

The question is, does anyone on the board know if there are any resellers who would either buy this outright, or maybe on consignment?

Thanks!

Ddt, I can't find the box for my iPhone GS at the moment, but if/when I do, the earbuds are yours--I don't use them. I'll let you know.
