We all know it. This is the spot to get it off your chest.

Baked an pear pie today for us and went for a pizza. As it's also close to 5 years since we started dating, but mainly because the vegetarian meatballs were still frozen ;-)

Truly. Go!

(I don't think I've mentioned how, um, problematic the woman I dated this summer turned out to be, have I?)

(tried to warn you Ton)

I'm a heartbreaker, dream maker, love taker, don't you mess around with me.

The woman I was dating over the summer stayed in touch with me, and read far too much into a few kindnesses from me. So tonight I had to be blunt. It's awful. Not nearly as awful as being on the other side (I'v been there), but awful.

Sorry, Jeff. Sounds awful.

The old "it's not me, it's you" conversation?

There's no way you can have that conversation without having some serious fallout.

As the saying goes, to make an omelette some eggs are going to receive a rather frank and direct conversation...

I avoid the issue by marrying everybody I date. Of course, that can lead to other issues.

Basically. I tried "it's not you, it's me" when we broke up in October, and although she basically left me alone for a couple of months, she's been pressing hard to get back together for the last month or so.

I've now been labeled "cruel." And I hate that, but if that's what it takes ...

Indeed, do we need to call you Mr BigLove?

Well, so far they've had the courtesy to denounce and divorce me before the next candidate comes along.

After eight months, eH[armony] is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. They've just "matched" me with a self-described fast-food worker from Oblong, Illinois (about 150 miles from here, and smack in the heart of nowhere). A quick look at her cursory profile suggests nothing in common with me, other than that we both confess to drinking several times a week. Doesn't exactly seem like the basis for a good relationship.

Tony Leggett (Moderator) – February 23, 2012 03:27PM Reply Quote
Unless they think you'll both "enable" each other into full-blown alcoholism, then it's a match made in heaven!

On a tangent, looks like some sneaky fine print (unless its changed) means I'll be going to court. Very frustrating.

Well, crap, Tony.

Sorry to hear that Tony.

Indeed--sorry to hear about all the tough times people are going through here. Although it might be the last thing anyone wants to hear at this time, sometimes the best things can come from the worst of situations.

...keeping you all in my prayers...

OK, I have, by far the bizzarest separation of anyone here by far.

Really, it should be made into a movie...
