We all know it. This is the spot to get it off your chest.

right on

Given that a lot of us have posted in semi-anonymity for 10 years we are in unique position to be neutral but not totally uninvested in things.

Kinda nice to have...

PS...

if that album were even remotely available via pay sources, i would strongly encourage you to buy it...

nice -- thanks. and that's a good reminder: we should all focus more on what makes us feel better (as long as it doesn't harm others).

got links to any senegalese or other west african music?

Sadly, I can't find any coke dealers in my neighbourhood...

tony, see my condition to that statement. damaging to others or self, maybe? at least, don't go breaking our hearts.

(and tony, does the name "tan le" from sydney mean anything to you? had dinner w/ her and a friend the other night. waaaay out of my league.

Re: just being happy. From my experience thats a huge piece of the puzzle. Thing about depression/anxiety is that when you get down to brass tacks, its just us doing it to ourselves.

Glad to hear about the thaw Baha. That seems to happen quit a bit--people need the reality of a breakup to understand what they got in the other. Unfortunately its a kind of emotional tetter-totter. Hope things stabilize on the positive side.

I had to break a "drama triangle" with an old attachment earlier this week. It was/is tough but she's consciously or unconsciously trying to wedge herself between Glenda and I and I just wont put up with that. I know her feelings are hurt, and that makes me deeply sad, but I just can't help her. The only thing I can do is pray that she finds the piece of mind she's looking for and try to be supportive from far far away.

That being said, Walla Walla is a small town and I end up bumping into her all over the place and its very uncomfortable. DDT, I feel your pain.

Things with Glenda are going great--each weekend we can spend together seems to show how truly compatible we are. as the song goes, I'm walkin on sunshine.

Chow guys, the dawn is only an hour away and I've got to try to get some shuteye before my day has to officially start.

In closing I just want to say you guys are great! Hope you all have a fantastic Memorial Day.

All right, I'm back from my trip 30 hours, and I'm already so fucking mad at my wife I could pull out my already-thinning hair.

If it weren't for children and their needs I would have been out of here years ago.

Fuck.

Sorry, Jeff.

yeah, sorry, jeff. take some breaths, get some distance, remember the positive reasons you're there. 'course, easy to say when you're not in the middle of the love blender.

Um, no. Can't say it does.

man, therapy and antidepressants trying to combine to keep me from feeling like a husk that's just going through the motions, and i feel like i'm regressing -- realizing i'm still in love with the ex, even knowing how weak and selfish ("can you give me an example of when she showed basic human empathy?" "ummm...."). friends swear this is a necessary first step, but it sucks. fighting really hard not to call her, see her, and ask if there's any chance of us again.

going to drug myself to sleep,

Sorry, ddt. I've been there. Don't make the call if you can help it.

Sorry to hear Daniel, have you thought about the possibility to completely change one part of your life?

What a journey.
ddt - hang in there. My brief bout with panic attacks (strangest thing in my life) and I can understand what you're saying. Strangely, I have found comfort in eating 'bad for me' food. I figured I'd try that before booze. And, yeah, whatever can get you a good night's sleep, too.

Cheering for you, bud.

thanks, guys. i'm working on it, but most days she's there in my mind, as almost everything i do (including brushing my teeth to bike racing) we did together until she started doing it all with someone else. feel like i need to be in an "ex anonymous" program with a sponsor to call.

bill, glad to hear the panic attacks have faded. note if anything you did reduced them, and focus on that.

As Bill notes:
Quote
If the temptation seems overpowering while you are in bed, GET OUT OF BED AND GO INTO THE KITCHEN AND FIX YOURSELF A SNACK, even if it is in the middle of the night, and even if you are not hungry, and despite your fears of gaining weight. The purpose behind this suggestion is that you GET YOUR MIND ON SOMETHING ELSE. You are the subject of your thoughts, so to speak.

Yeah, strangely, I've found actual COMFORT in some food. Nothing too bad/much. But, the body does like the diversion.

In America, the only respectable form of socialism is socialism for the rich.
I concur, do not make the call.
Been there ... a long time ago but sounds the same.
