Hey, what smells like breakfast? Oh crap, my brain is on fire again.
I woke up to see the video of the second plane whacking into the WTC. The U.S. has been sucker punched and is going to jump up with both fists swinging looking for the first chin it sees to clock.
They've shut down the TransAmerica building and the Golden Gate is under watch (whatever that means).
I do wish they'd fuckin' stop with the damn damn supergraphics with "Day of Terror!", etc.

Reality Check:
This is the worst attack on the US since the War of 1812.
Expect the US to respond first with cruise missiles at symbolic enemies allied with the likely perpetrators (Bye-bye, Taliban) and then when the FBI and CIA finally get the investigation underway, the high muckey-mucks will find themselves standing trial within two years.

I had to call my Mom in a panic this morning. My dad (an engineer involved in a pretty innocuous peace-dividend project) was supposed to fly down to a meeting at the Pentagon today. Turned out things were re-scheduled he made the trip back yesterday.

Soup, I wish I was as sanguine as you that the leaders behind this will be punished, but I seriously doubt it, just as the real leaders of the original WTC bombing weren't punished.
What I find very interesting about all of this is that any Islamic terrorist group that could carry off something this big against the US could surely have done the same against Israel -- but they didn't.
