for a non-musician such as myself, the visual aids are a big help for me to see how, in a song i usually just enjoy, all the instruments come in and interweave -- a new appreciation for how complex a piece of work a pop song can be.

History passes the first time as tragedy, the second time as farts. - Roy Edroso
Tony Bourdain - No Reservations - New Orleans

watching Tony eating with Emeril Legasse, go through the 9th Ward, talking with locals about plans for Trump et al to "Disneyfy" the city, I felt a mixture of sadness that I never went to pre-katrina NO and anger that inaction, ineptitude and mismanagement have almost killed one of the USA's few truly "International" cities.

I think they always do. and some people always allow it. and some people stand on the sidelines. that's the way it is. it was like that when I got here.

What a journey.

I love Glass, his works are recognisable in every flick that's used him. I especially like Koyaanisqatsi.

I just listened to him on this weeks TWiT podcast.
I loved him on the John Hodgson Audio book "Area of my Expertise"

In America, the only respectable form of socialism is socialism for the rich.
Watched "3:10 to Yuma" (thanks iTunes rentals) on the Samsung via Mac Mini -- Looked fantastic and the sound was great.

Good movie too. A little hokey at end, frankly, but the very end left me feeling better.

Also watched "I Like Killing Flies" yesterday. Good documentary about a "fat nasty jew" who has owned Shopsin's restaurant in Greenwich Village for some 30-odd years. Really good.

I've been sick with some nasty flu like bug. Going to watch Super Bad next from iTunes.
