Neither justified nor unjustified. Gizmodo was merely reporting the fact that CBS made an errant tweet about Steve's death today which a jillion people retweeted before CBS could post a pseudo-retraction and apology.
I say "pseudo-retraction" because CBS didn't say that it wasn't true, just that it was unconfirmed.
