Well, if it makes you feel better, go for it.

Gotta agree with CS. That's a pretty elementary bug that should have been picked up very early on in the QA process.
Almost as bad as releasing modern software with a Y2K-style bug.

Oh snap! Let ring the dulcet tones of the literary pundit. Oh how I've missed thee, ddt.

What sad times are these when casual references to 19th century headgear go unrecognized! Would "shako" have been better? It's not quite what I meant, but in the same ballpark.

Bearskin actually.. well the guy with the brass moustache that is.

actual comment about OS X... anyone else noticed that 10.6.3 (might have started in earlier versions... wasn't paying too much attention) keeps stealing focus from the user? if you're working on a doc, say, and click on the Mail icon (in the Dock or Desktop) to launch it, you can expect the launching app to come to the front. But if I switch back to my document, the launching app will pop back to the foreground. a few other similar examples I can add later.

I'm pretty sure that's been the case for a long, long time. It's an annoyance, for sure.
Windows does it, too.

Yeah, been around for a while and it's damned annoying. Programatically, I think there's some activation notification going on asynchronously (without "proper" blocking) rather than a strict behavior change. Sad, though, because it's hard to predict what's going to happen, and unpredictablity is the hallmark of a poor interface (or, as CS put it, "Windows does it, too").

ha -- yeah, and similarly (but I'm sure a different issue) is that when you're in your podcast directory in itunes, and you make a change (say, go to the itunes store and subscribe to a new podcast), itunes puts you at the top of the directory when you click back into, so you have to scroll all the way down again.
