Well.

Also needed with Spork is the "ribaldry • rumors • rats" sub-moniker

I'm moving Spork/MacEdition to a new server tonight. The new server's IP address is 74.207.228.155. When I move Spork, I'm going to disable posting on the old server, so if you get here and find you can't post, that means you need to flush your local DNS cache(s) until pinging reaches the above address.

The WebX archive will follow.

OK, I'm posting this to the new server. If you see this message, you're hitting the new server.

As an aside, this move is because my company is moving all of it's public facing internet services to the cloud.

We were paying over $600/month for a 5MB/5MB fiber (with a great SLA, so there's that) and it's now become cost effective to move the servers out the the cloud and use business class fiber (FiOS) for our facility internet instead.

You're welcome.

I'm having a hard time finding a download for WebX for the archive. Changing platforms isn't easy with closed source software.

I have, however, exported the archive to an SGML file. If anyone is an SGML guru, and wants to figure out how to translate the contents of that archive to Phorum, I'm game.

I might look into it myself depending on how likely getting the WebX software is.

Thanks Tom! Out of curiousity, what was spork running on and what is it running on now?

It was running on a dual P-III @ 1GHz, shared with about 20 other low volume sites. The machine itself was an SGI single-RU unit.

The new machine is a partial from Linode.

FileMaker 11 is out. My life remains... unchanged. But it probably matters to some of you!

Tom, I see this a lot on the macedition front page:

Deprecated: Function split() is deprecated in /home/umacedition/public_html/www/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php(594) : eval()'d code on line 408

Sometimes the page loads anyway after showing me this, usually it just stops loading. (Safari 4.0.4 for Windows) Say, that's an ominous version number for a web browser...

Thanks, John. I'll fix it later tonight.

The move to the new server is also a move to PHP 5.3.x which has some newly deprecated functions, and means I need to upgrade to the latest Textpattern. I though I got them all, but I guess I missed one :D
