Well, yes, you know. We all need them some times.

Love my iPhone but wonder if it is going to feel like squinting at a fat Mac after getting used to my iPad by the end of next week.

I admit it--I'm getting sucked in by the hype and the early reviews. Might be an early morning on Saturday.

Despite already having a 3g on pre-order, I may stand on line Saturday to get a Wifi-only one.

I was really thinking about that, but my wife would probably leave me. The annoying thing is that, after she sees me playing with my iPad 3G, she'll want one and let me buy a WiFi. But not before.

See, that's the advantage of my current situation.

Yeah. When my first wife left, I bought a PowerMac 8500 and a PowerBook 520c. I couldn't afford either one, but it was GLORIOUS.

Apparently some people are getting theirs today! Ours is still in UPS land so probably will not get it till Saturday or maybe even Monday!

daniel, wtf? i don't believe that. who received theirs outside of the press?

mine is in chep lap airport, hong kong and heading out... assuming no trouble in customs…

then again, i have another at the apple store awaiting…

dharlow – April 01, 2010 06:36PM Reply Quote
Probably April fools jokes, but a quick search of twitter some people report receiving them. For myself ours is still on the way.

Baha, willing to let go of one of them, or were you planning to keep both?

Jeff Cooper – April 02, 2010 06:21AM Reply Quote
Looks like I'm going to have the kids Saturday morning, and they're not very good at either getting up early or standing in line. So I guess I'll have to wait.

all I want to say about cory doctorow's rant (I am so tired of cory doctorow) about the ipad is that he forgets to consider one thing about his "comic book" argument. that is, he never asks WHY people want to share comic books. it's to TALK ABOUT THEM. and in this online world, there's never been more ability to do so, whether via email, chat, or tons of great web sites -- and none of that requires passing along copyrighted works and driving sales/salaries/opportunities down.

Got one--the 32 GB model. I walked into Best Buy at 11:15, and there they were. Four on display; three 32s and six 64s available. I guess word really hadn't got out that BB would have them.

I won't get to open it until tonight, and I'm now feeling a bit silly about my object lust. But what the heck. It's mine!

I'm syncing a 64GB now. The Apple store had stacks and stacks, but the line kept getting longer. It was still 120 deep when I walked out at 9:35...

It is torture knowing that I must wait for my 3G iPad.

Bruce Robertson – April 03, 2010 08:37AM Reply Quote
I see UPS tracker info describes the product as WORLD EASE. Waiting for mine in Redmond.

What a journey.
I went to BB to see if they had them. Four out on display. About 50/50 for those wanting to buy, to those just window shopping.
They had plenty of stock they said, but did not tell me numbers.
They were asking people what they thought of them. Meh was the average response.

To tell the truth, I was not that impressed. Neither was my son. And we had the greenlight to get one if we wanted.
I passed. I might pick one up in a couple of years.

Do any of you have any old iPod Touch(es) you'd like to get rid of? I'm trying to find a couple on refurbs, but I think the lowest priced ones have recently gone up in price. $149 --> $169 I think.
My sons both want one. Or know of any place cheap(er)?

Jeff Cooper – April 03, 2010 10:14AM Reply Quote
Walking by the Indy Apple Store. Line of browsers is about 20 deep; people who want to buy are getting in pretty much immediately.

Bruce Robertson – April 03, 2010 10:48AM Reply Quote
Just got it! Syncing now...

Re old iPod Touch: I have an original edition iPhone I'd be happy to sell.

Bruce Robertson – April 03, 2010 12:48PM Reply Quote
OK, all charged and synched. Like it a lot but just like my iPhone I wish there were little rubber grippy strips or something, it's too slick. Connect to FileMaker with instant web publishing through browser, works OK. I have a thin shell in my phone that has a rubber finish, it's just right. It is not one of those thick gooey silicon things, just a very thin shell.
