Well, yes, you know. We all need them some times.

Apple may miss some targets soon. I hope that no more deaths are involved.

They were thinking, "We don't want to cannibalize our smart phone market. We'll make them buy both! For the... uh... convenience!"

At the next board meeting:

CEO 1: "I blame CEO 2 for his failure to deliver on this product."

CEO 2: "No, you're thinking of CEO 3. Understandable, as we both have the same first name."

CEO 3: "I thought we'd decided this was CEO 4's responsibility."

CEO 4: "Arf arf!"

It's a worry that the employment contract has a "no suicide" clause...

Foxconn denies that there's a no suicide clause.

Thanks for the feedback John and dharlow. It has been a while. I checked my previous posts and it's been about 6 months since I last logged in and about 12 months since I posted regularly. I can't think of any specific reason why I stopped logging in here though.

Anyway, this is the book I'm referring to: http://www.amazon.com/JavaScript-Definitive-Guide-David-Flanagan/dp/0596805527/

On the O'Reilly site its $39 or something and the kindle version is $27 so I bought that version. Then on the last page of the kindle version there's a link which you can use to "upgrade" to the multi format digital version from O'Reilly, so I did that as well. This means I have the Kindle version, and ePub version, a PDF version and a mobi version (which is the kindle format).

The ToC in the different versions is properly linked as you would expect, it's just not the best experience trying to find a specific topic quickly. It definitely needs rethinking, on an iPhone anyway.

Not available 'til fall, though.

Future macbooks could be modular like that.

Unwise, but a hell of a lot of fun. Time to re-learn the art of grenade-jumping.

after having played the whole halo series i found it somewhat awkward to go back to marathon. the memories I have of how the game played dont match up with how it actually plays. I remember it being smoother and faster but after having played more modern games it doesn't feel that way anymore.

Don't try to go back to Pathways of Darkness, then. That's really slow.

Though a large part of Marathon was always the puzzle, right? Figuring how to get there from here. And keeping track of what was going on with the insane AIs.
