Maybe it is just me, but has anybody ever mentioned that the reflection effect with your logistics director sorta makes it look like she is an amputee / Thalidomide victim ... maybe play with the skin tone in the reflections so it looks more "smoked mirror"...

Nobody has mentioned it, but I'll take a look the next time I'm working on the site...

It would be a world of wonders indeed if Microsoft demos were actual products.

Why do we need two opposing screens? Isn't that feature of the book a result of the limitations of paper?

I don't know about you but personally, I've been extremely disappointed by the fact that nobody has developed Penny's "Computer Book" from the original Inspector Gadget cartoons. That is why I fully embrace this concept.
What? What do you mean it doesn't come with a retractable audio/video uplink collar for my dog?
Well, screw that.

That was a good iPad commercial during the oscars. Seriously cranked up the want.

I still here lots of "Kindle has more books" concerns...

Kindle Reader program should work on the iPad.

Sure the Kindle app works on the iPad, I'm sure the books will be really easy to read at 200% on the iPad's screen :-)

Amazon claims the sell the Kindle basically at cost. I'd love to see them go head to head with Apple on the iPad. Make the better book reader and book buying application.
At least that's what I'm hoping they do. I'd like to read my kindle collection on my iPad.

It would be a world of wonders indeed if Microsoft demos were actual products.
Or if they could ship them in a timely fashion. IE 7, Zune, Vista and Windows Mobile 7 Phone Edition CE PocketPC Whateverthefucktheyarecallingit Edition all share a feature of being considerably late to the party and losing considerable relevance thereby.

Hasn't that always been Microsoft's mo? Announce something, create a market vacuum because customers will now wait for the Microsoft version, erase competition and resume normal service.
Except, there's actual competition now. And customers who've grown tired of Microsoft.

Apple has succeeded in making "cool" cool again. Microsoft isn't capable of being cool. The closest they have been able to get is the XBox... and even then, nobody calls it the "Microsoft XBox" because that's not cool.
Steve's decision to trim Apple's product line down to the bare essentials allowed them to make each produce cool. It's pervasive throughout their offerings.
The areas where "cool" doesn't matter (servers, etc.) is where Apple isn't as successful and Microsoft is.

Tomorrow we can order the iPad. I'll be getting one, if they are pre-selling the 3G models. Anybody have any thoughts on the "retail store pick-up" vs. "FedEx delivery" options? The former seems less convenient, but more assured.

Depending on how many retail stores are in your area I think it would be about a wash of FedEx vs in-store. I always seem to need to leave notes to the driver to get them to leave stuff as the after hours pickup is not so good. If there is some one home that could take delivery I would feel better.
The Apple Store by me is in a mall a pass by on the way from home, so that is a no brainer. Technically they also have at least three other stores that I could get to from work too...
Decisions.
