Dark Knight. Very good movie. Disjointed at times. Liked Wall-E and Iron Man more, but was really excellent.

What a journey.
Watched Yuma last night. Felt like "Enemy Mine" meets "The Gauntlet". Not bad. Not great.

Agreed Monkers.
But a truly amazing performance from Heath Ledger. Makes Jack Nicholson look like a rank amateur.

I liked Heath Ledger's performance, and he did a great job, but he got to play a different joker than Jack Nicholson. Jack was perfect for Tim Burton and Ledger was perfect for Nolan. It was a great performance, but no Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men.

Totally agree. And I think that the writing and general moods of the characters are a bit different from one another. In fact, there was one moment when Ledger's joker was hanging upside down that I think he may have hummed a note or two from Jack's Joker.
People are touting this as the Best movie of the summer... I am not sure about that. It _was_ good. But Iron Man was more entertaining to me... I think. Maybe I need to see them both again.

good comment at shacknews, in a discussion about the watchmen games (yeesh) and movie:
A: the sound you hear is Alan Moore screaming.
B: he does that anyway.

I have to admit to having not seen Iron Man yet, so I cant "contrast".
Dark Knight was easily the best movie in the franchise (so far? :))
The one thing that did get me a bit was the fact that it was almost TOO MUCH. i.e. the parts with Two-Face. He deserves more than a 15 minute transition from Hero Fighting for the City, to Im-gonna-shoot-your-kid-inna-face.
Ledger though. Yes, it wasn't the '60s joker, or the '90s joker, but damn if he didn't own this joker. I really didn't see "ledger" in there. Excellent performance. And that's amongst some other good performances.
I do have to say (not really a spoiler, but could be a "don't think of an elephant" kind of thing so here goes:
Is it me, or was anyone else irritated by Bale(as batman)'s Clenched Teeth Low Growl voice? Literally seemed like every time he was Batman, he would try to do a Emperor/Clint Eastwood impersonation.
Morg "Best movie I've seen this year, tho' Wal-E and IronMan are DVD's waiting to arrive." anti
