OK, I know this is the tech equivalent of "the new phone books are here" but I was over at Wal~Mart buying exfoliating scrub and I noticed they REALLY ARE selling the RCA HDTV converter boxes for $49.97 -- after the Fed Coupon that is less than $10. So fear not unwashed OTA TV masses, you can join the digital era for about one night out at KFC...

At the other end of the TV watching spectrum , Pioneer is shutting down its in-house panel operations -- if you don't want a Kuro with Panny guts go out and track down the last of 'em... http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601080&sid=asdLQteMqpFo&refer=asia

So far, I like Hulu. Of course, it sucks getting any of that content to my TV, but there was about one minute worth of ads per 22 minutes of a simpson episode, which was not bad at all. Quality is pretty good at full-screen on a 20" LCD. Might not make it to my home theater, but will make the work day go by easier.

Did somebody say...Buffy?

I don't know much about it. Someone mentioned it at lunch. I'll take a look at it tonight.

I CAN say that I was surprised to find old NBC shows on their site last night. I watched the first/pilot episode of Miami Vice last night. I remember watching it LIVE, and being that I was the only one with a VCR (Sony Betamax SL-2401) I recorded it, too. Sadly, I could almost recite the entire ep's dialog.

But, they had a few shows on their site.

Not sure how that compares to HULU or who HULU is or anything.

What a journey.

I didn't know hulu had gone live ... as in anyone can access the content. I gave up...

I agree, it's better than nothing. But IMO its a bit dead in the water w/re to what people want, which is to move media to various devices. I'll get it from the library and Handbrake the stuff.

Bizarre. Lost had the exact same kind of recap before this fourth season began, at almost the exact same length (for Lost, it was 8:15, to play off the show's sequence of numbers), with the same tone to the script, using the same voiceover actress. What, is she going to do every serial drama now?

Hmmm. Link?

I wonder if there's just one crew/chick doing all of them?

That would be frakked.

Now, what WORD does lost use to substitute for F**K?

What a journey.

Here's the Lost recap of seasons 1-3.

"Mr. Friendly throws like a girl."

Wait a minute--I just watched the two recaps again. Am I wrong, or is that the voice of Mary Lynn Rajskub?

Loved the Battlestar recap. I can't wait.
I think the 2 short seasons will revive them like Lost has come back so strong this season.

I don't think so. I sounds like the girl that is in all the voice auto phone menu systems AND target in-store ads I hear.

watched a Galactica 80 episode on hulu. The opening credits said Patrick Stuart. I looked, and looked for him.

Well, it's not Patrick STEWart.

The kid in white (Dr. Zee) is JAMES Patrick Stuart.

and, he's a guy that I first recall from Sliders, then Friends. And he was in a lot of Andy Richters, too.

OK -- since I found out Hulu was out of beta and free to the world I started watching Buffy.

Having never watched Buffy, oh probably because it started the year I got married, and the next year had a baby ... I didn't know the appeal.

Wowza. OK she's PYT and it's a compelling show to boot. Loving it.
