Ooh! Scary! Scary! Don't we look mean? You can't see me! But I can see you!
Oh yeah. I was attempting to draw that conclusion too--but lost it in the beans and bourbon...

The Dark Knight (I had to think about it when it was first used to.)

wow, of all of those, the only one i enjoyed seeing at all was #5 and #25, and ellen barkin in #24 (though i did not see the dumbest tier). unless that was the indy movie with sean connery. his part was interesting to watch, snoozed through the rest.

ddt---I thought the same thing. There's not a movie on that list I would pay to see again.

Pay again? Or never pay in the first place?

---

If I hadn't seen any of these I'd have paid to see: (keep in mind that list is only the Yahoo Top 30--there were probably more I'd have paid for)

1. Batman (The first Batman movie to take the character 'seriously')
2. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (The third installment of a Franchise I was hooked on the moment I saw Raiders)
4. Look Who's Talking (Kirstie Alley and the Return of John Travolta--before I knew he was a scientologist?! Comedy date movie? Definitely.)
5. Honey, I Shrunk The Kids (A leap forward in technology. Yes.)
6. Back to the Future II (Spielberg produced sci-fi adventure with both the 2nd and 3rd installments being filmed back to back? Yes.)
7. Back to the Future III
8. Ghostbusters II (How could I not?)
11. Dead Poets Society (Robin Williams in an acclaimed serious role that he would later be nominated Best Actor for and lose to Daniel Day Lewis in My Left Foot? Absolutely.)
12. When Harry Met Sally... (Date Comedy movie with Hottie Meg Ryan and funny man Billy Crystal. Abstaf'nlootley I'd pay.)
14. The War of the Roses (Kathleen Turner, Danny DeVito and Michael Douglas - Third times a charm... I'd totally pay.)
16. Turner & Hooch (Tom Hanks and a Dog! Ok, I was young and I'd pay. Hanks has always been great whether it be as an attorney suffering with the physical and social hurdles of HIV or a Bosom Buddy on a hilarious sitcom. PAY PAY PAY)
19. Uncle Buck (John Hughes, John Candy and a precocious but not yet exploited Macaulay Culkin? Sure. Plus the girl ended up being hot! PAY!)
20. Tango & Cash (Stallone and Kurt Russell in a bad-ass adventure movie with a new actress named Teri Hatcher? Stuff is gonna go boom? Aw Yeeeeah!)
21. Field of Dreams (Looks kinda lame at first. But James Earl Jones, Burt Lancaster and the up and coming Kevin Costner and a little known Ray Liotta are in it? Sure I'll pay. Turned out to be AWESOME.)
22. Harlem Nights (Ashamedly paid. Murphy and Arsenio set in the late 30s early 40s? How could it suck? Let me count the ways...)
25. The Abyss (Aliens under the sea? Pay!!!!)
26. Star Trek V: the Final Frontier (Another Trek Movie? It can't possibly suck! The last one was so good! Pay! My last date with Lori Tucker.)
28. See No Evil, Hear No Evil (Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder again? Sure I'll pay. I loved it too.)

Now, If I had the opportunity to pay for them again to see them on the Big Screen?

1. Batman
2. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
6. Back to the Future II (At a discount)
7. Back to the Future III (At a discount)
8. Ghostbusters II (Maybeeee.... but the first is so much better.)
19. Uncle Buck (I'm throwing this in because I just love it)
20. Tango & Cash (Ultimate Cheesefest! I'd do it)
25. The Abyss (Aliens under the sea? Pay!!!!)
26. Star Trek V: the Final Frontier (Sadly I might--expecially if it was a Trek Marathon)

Some I dare to have in my movie collection, others I'd rent while still others I'd never touch again.

look who's talking TOO...
we saw this in the movie theater and that was the most laughs I had heard and participated in since opening night of Bev Hills Cop.

It was so enjoyable for families.

My kids are really into the Look Who's Talking movies. I think that they're awful.

Granted, not the most official source, but... they're going to make a move set between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings?! WTF? Why not insert a few books into the New Testament while you're at it? Christ. We're going to have ninjas and jetpacks in Middle Earth before this is done.

Maybe I'm dumb but I didn't glean that from the article. First it started out like he was dreaming. I don't know the author well though since I don't read Penny Arcade regularly. It looks like a game? That article is cryptic and aloof. I concede to the geekness I cannot possibly employ to understand this article.

Well written. We tried this at my house already. It didn't work. The handy slip cases we put all of the DVDs into began to scratch the exposed parts of the disks--even in the book. Because many DVDs, have two sided content, there exposed parts simply were not covered by a standard CD/DVD jacket in a binder. Even if you only access the binders occasionally, the shifting of the sleeves causes damage to any exposed part of the disc. Out came the boxes and in went back all of the DVDs. Conversations about replacing all of the damaged discs with new media curbed the desire to 'compact the storage' any longer. That being said I wouldn't mind ripping them all to a huge hard drive and accessing them electronically as long as they were still intact in their boxes stored away in a cool, dark place that was easily accessed by my media burned eyes.

I bought a 1TB drive at Fry's - on sale of course - and ripped all my DVDs to it with no further compression (just decrypted).

They must be destroyed. After the FotR movie, with Orcs like insects, on the ceiling of Moria, I knew no good could come of this. Stand by for Moby Dick II.
