Just realised Archer Dreamland is out. Liked the first two episodes.

I didn't care for the first few, but it is building nicely. It is SO funny how the standard Archer secondary characters are being re-purposed.

Yep, that's what I liked. And Barry being back.

Archer manages to keep it fresh with the constant reinvention. I like the extra story on Krieger, even if half of what makes his character funny has been the not-really-mysterious mysteriousness.

Krieger's creepiness constantly amuses me...

"Me, too!"

The thing to remember about Krieger's backstory is that it is just what Archer's subconscious has constructed for him. Who knows what the story is with the "real" Krieger...

You know what surprised me most about Alien Covenant? The crew's total lack of surprise at, you know, anything. "Oh, somehow there's an inhabitable planet that wasn't on the survey". "Oh, we'll just land and breathe and smoke." "Oh, it's quiet, so I guess it's a good thing we didn't do any lifeform surveying from space." "Oh, that looks like a vehicle." "Oh, the first spacefaring alien species we've ever encountered."

These should be BIG THINGS. Even for space truckers.

But, more importantly, how do people feel about the fact that it confirms Prometheus was actually a thing and even continued on that storyline - rather than attempting to erase the whole sorry mess from official Alien canon.

And neutrino storms? WTF? Millions of the fuckers fly through us all the time. Neil DeGrass Tyson, Bill Nye, Brian Cox etc must be apoplectic...

Oh, no. No. Do not go down that "the science didn't make any sense even within the context of FTL etc.". Then you'll hit the questions such as how did they detect a neutrino storm before it hit, as neutrinos move at c. And that neutrinos are chargeless and massless and detecting them at all is an iffy effort at best. Or that they can detect a planet lightyears away that's not on existing charts. Or that they can alter interplanetary vectors no prob. Or that they FUCKING TOUCH EVERYTHING.

Prometheus made me literally slap my forehead about five minutes in (the idea that you can ID a solar system because five planets are in orbit at the same spots as a rock carving). And I never literally do that.

The casino/slots scenes in Twin Peaks (eps 3 and 4) might make JW a bit anxious.

I saw a still picture from the show, and noticed the casino games. Couldn't see if any of them were mine, though.

I'm not sure which documentary I got this factoid from (good god, that's one step away from "my facebook group said...") but apparently if you had a slab of lead a light-year thick and fired a neutrino through it, you have a 50/50 chance of it hitting something and stopping before passing through the other side.

#fact

I know I have resources unavailable to Hollywood screenwriters and directors, but yes, it's hard to detect a neutrino: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_neutrino_experiments

Watched my FIRST Netflix (streaming) movie today. [I used to get DVDs like 10 years ago...]
War Machine
surprisingly I found it very interesting. I'm not sure I heard much about it. But liked it.

I've said it already, but damn American Gods is good. Quirky AF, but good.
