Of course, next to them, who wouldn't be?

Game of Thrones background from an... unexpected.. source.

How can you tell if there are gratuitous boobies in the background in the books or not? (That could get me to read the books... .)

"Gratuitous boobies" is an oxymoron.

As are "plot-point development boobies" but I get what you mean.

Boobies just are...

DPBD!

For those who are reading Game of Thrones by eBook get the Westeros map off the app store. It lists absolutely everywhere covered in the book (including which house owns what hall, where particular battles were fought). Searchable too...

Based on a post at comicsalliance.com, I started checking out Superman III, which I'd never seen before (was underplussed by the first two when I was a kid), and it's amazing that in the first four or five shots after the (very silly) credits, you can really tell that Richard Lester is a Real Director. Note how Richard Pryor's face is revealed, and the camera tracking of him playing with a yoyo while nervously testing a "Stand Here" line on the floor.

Well, looks like they want to drive people to piracy instead.

Wasn't there a premium paid version of that service too?

Yeah, I subscribed for a while at $8/month. I almost never used it and let it lapse.

I have hulu plus because I don't have cable. I can download most of the stuff on there, but I like to be consistent and I always said I would pay for stuff if they made it available. On one hand, this could actually mean more access. ESPN3 gives you access to many more games if you have an ISP partner, and they don't ask you to authorize if they can tell you are on a partner network. In the case of ESPN3, I got it even though I wasn't a subscriber because Comcast is my ISP. If Hulu follows this method and gives me more access to more content, that wouldn't be a bad deal. If I have to be a cable subscriber and I start getting less with Hulu+ (which you needed to stream on devices I believe or at least playstation), then they can suck bollocks.

Of course this move would hamper smaller ISPs who don't have the assets to make these deals. I really don't need cable and this would actually push me to do more a la carte of my content, not less. Tivo will record HD signals over the air, and I could wait until other stuff comes out on DVD / Blu-ray if the torrents get locked down. They are all fighting a losing battle in the end, but not sure how long we will have to wait it out.

Give "The Avengers" a B+. Maybe it was that it came on after 30+ min of commercials, and then a few too many previews (and I like previews!). But seemingly short on character, and I didn't like Fisticuff!Loki (he's a trickster, not a brawler).

That said, this reaction is from someone who couldn't make it through the 3D Tintin movie. Glad I didn't pay for it. The cutesy music cues, the deathly predictable action and story beats. Technically, the backgrounds were great; I'd have rather watched an hour of camera-view strolling through the scenery.

Enjoyed Avengers too. Funny lines, funny punching. Stark is always great, but the Hulk was Amazing.

Thought Rufalo was really good, though I was worried Mr Serious Actor would think this was slumming. Scarlet Johansen was awful, though -- weak, and even when (nominally) speaking Russian, with zero Russian accent.

I liked the film. For a comic book movie. This isn't the same scale one measures Scorsese, Hitchcock, and Kubrick films on. The Hulk's interaction with Loki made my day.

Also, the just-cuz punching of Thor. Ruffalo played the tragic just right - I want to go watch the last Hulk movie now, but with him in it. Who cares about whats-her-face's accent? The point is that magnificent butt.

My kids loved that. Well, the whole theater did, but especially my kids.

Hell, even the child-like focus with which he ripped apart the jet as it went down, just got me.

I liked the "shut up, puny god!" comment after belting up Loki....

I liked the (can't remember the exact phrasing) "You think you're better than they are?" / "... well, yes!"

Reminded me of one of my fave lines from Real Genius. No-prize for the first person who finds it online.
