I know I'm way behind the curve here, but just saw Ep 3 of Game of Thrones. LOVED the fencing master scene (though that's not at all how to teach or fence) -- cracked my shit up and made me want to take up a sabre again.

29 more days until I can finally watch the series...

Okay, the scullery scene in Ep 4 with... Sam, is it?... is also cracking me up. That actor, though he's channeling Nick Frost, is really funny.

The Colbert Show has
suspended production for unexplained reasons, for at least a few days. Ticket holders have been informed that the shows that they were to attend were cancelled. I hope that Colbert and his family are okay. I hold that man in great esteem.

DPBD. Looks like it is a "family issue." I hope he'll take all the time he needs.

Anyone have any trusted 508 Compliance folks they'd like me to send on to bid on a project?

What a journey.
ha ha ha . I am working on Section 508 compliance right now, too.
No one to send you, though. Did you get the 'failed' review, with noted reasons and suggested alterations?
I have released HP QuickTest Pro (aka Functional Test) into a group to review its effectiveness.
More than a few sites I found one can 'point' them to your site to evaluate. But not sure how one feels about such peering-in.

It's a client of ours asking for a project of theirs. We don't do that specifically, but I thought maybe Tony might have some resources...

508 is a US specific standard that I know of but don't know in any depth.
Government websites in Australia try to follow the
W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.
It goes without saying that valid HTML/CSS gets you halfway there (but only halfway).
Sorry I can't be more help.

We have done 508 audits for websites as we work with several educational organizations. If this is what you are looking for let me know.

For those who liked
In the Loop here's a hitlist of some of the pithier qoutes:

Just got myself the boxset of
The Thick Of It - which is the BBC political satire show it was based on.
About as un-West Wing as it gets...

Via Gruber,
here's what happened when The Oatmeal tried to watch Game of Thrones.

Going through this now. This was the final season of Chuck, one of my favorite shows of the past five years, and I missed the Christmas episode because the local NBC affiliate decided to show a local Christmas choral special instead. For reasons known only to WB, this season of Chuck is not on Hulu, not on iTunes, not on Amazon, not on the NBC website, and wasn't available On Demand. Apparently I have to wait until the whole season is released on DVD (at which point, I assume, it'll also go on iTunes). The episode I missed was supposedly a pivot point for the season, but I finally gave up and watched the ensuing episodes that I'd saved on my DVR, through the finale. I'd never really been tempted by torrents, but this was close.
Hey Warner Bros: I have money. I want to give it to you. I'm more motivated to give it to you now than I will be in six months, or whenever the DVDs are released. Why are you trying to drive me to piracy?

What a journey.
Anyone even THINK about Pixar Brave?
Or has the Disney-fication of Pixar ALREADY marked in apathy?

I'll wait until I see it. I'm not going to condemn it on what I've seen and heard so far. Cars 2, though, which I just saw, was utterly forgettable.

It'll be truly sad if Pixar has lost its magic.
Without Pixar, kids movies are a minefield of chipmunks, smurfs and other tacky talking animals. Basically a pile of animated drek with bad storylines...

Hang onto your hats, kiddies. Game of Thrones DVD & BluRay set out on March 7 (that's like a fortnight, dude!)

I was hot to buy the Blu-Rays at the time, but I've cooled off. The depressing tone of the books is souring me on them as time passes. I pretty much know that there won't be any happy endings, and I'm starting to wonder whether I want to stay involved.
