Aside from email/notes, what have you moved to the iPad Pro? Tempted to get one myself to upgrade from the iPad 3, though my big iPhone kinda does the job.

I do most of my browsing on iPad Pro. Word works well enough on it. That plus email is most of my time. Near zero latency in most things is amazing,,,,

I think I would be able to efficiently use it for writing/research with a fast split-screen view and hardware keyboard. But that gets pricey. You have a keyboard?

Yes, I have the Apple keyboard. I can't stand the cheapness of the Logitech Create. Hoping for something better coming out soon.

I've given up trying to game with my MBP, so bought another Alienware laptop (works great with my new TV), and a 10.5" iPad Pro with cellular service for mobile use. I take it pretty much everywhere (tons of places I would never take a 15" MBP) and thus find it incredibly useful. The MBP is going on eBay soon. The main thing I miss is a decent iOS version of Quicken, but I can use the PC or my wife's MBP for that.

What MBP is it? Need a new one for an employee.

Basically top of the line 2016 but with 1TB SSD instead of 2TB.

Both my wife and I are upgrading to 8s (me to an 8 plus, her regular), which is the first time we have upgraded since the 6. I'm not that jazzed, but I've busted two 7s so I need to start the AppleCare Plus cycle again or risk financial calamity. She is jazzed, as is my son who will get her phone for his birthday. So maybe the supercycle is real?

I might get the 8. I am on a 6s now. I really only need 118 but of course that is no longer available, so I'll get the 256. I think think the a11 chip is enough to take it over a 7

So in 10.13 no more AIM support in Messages, it is the end of an era.

Are you saying that TIC, or truly saddened?
What about desktop/screen sharing? I have not checked. (ichat vs messages vs AIM support)

Actually we still use AIM a lot, many of my clients use it and so my entire staff did too. Also video group chat and all that is gone as far as I can tell too, now just FaceTime which is not a great substitute since it is just one-on-one.
