Anything that will work in a Cube? Put a larger drive in it, stock otherwise. Still got mine but it's resting.
Got nothing but RAM. I think you might be able to put an upgraded AGP card in there, but you might have to modify it a little. I'd be find sending it to you.

This will all happen after I get back from the new year. El Jeffe, do you want that dual?

Sad to hear about Nick!

Oh, a big fluffy milkshake to Apple for being ass-backwards.

Bought my wife a Macbook for Xmas. She doesn't care about unboxing so I thought I'd load up all the software and so on (a sideways dose of brown fluid for Microsoft for forcing me to download and install eight updates for office.... arrrghH!). Then I saw it for the first time: what the hell, why are the function keys completely different on the Macbook and the MBP? Why isn't there an option for soft mapping the itunes controls on the Macbook? This makes no sense. I don't understand why they can't just come to an understanding that you should standardize standardize standardize and give the user controls. Oh well, strange.

Yeah, I hate that it's different on my MacBook and the thin new external keyboard, and that I have to still use a third-party extension to have hotkeys for iTunes when the external keyboard isn't plugged in. Dumb dumb dumb.

Remy/Mokers: if you've got a Geforce 2MX video card, I could use one.

Anything in the way of an AGP 32MB+ video card will attract my attention.

Cool, I'll take a look when I get back after the new year. I should have 2 AGP cards available.

because faxing is built into os x now?

And the only people using faxes these days are spammers sending out vacation offers pretending to be memos from "The Corporate Travel Department".

I kid... but it's funny how I always see those sitting next to the fax machine at the office.

I fax stuff everyday. Not with OS X, mind you. It's actually a pain in the ass now that regular old fax machines are a thing of the past in some aspects.

What a journey.

A lot of our clients dont even own fax machines. Usually what they do is print out a document sign it, scan it to pdf and email the pdf to us.

Ooh! Scary! Scary! Don't we look mean? You can't see me! But I can see you!
What? I'm going to send a letter out via facsimile out for Christmas. Doesn't everybody?

Oh by the way, does anyone want my pager number? My personal code is "04".

I'll post it here for everyone to see... NOT.

And Smith Micro, which made FaxSTF Pro was always one of these companies that made Microsoft look good.

Hmm... Since it's end of the year, it's always a good time to take stock.

What are the companies out there that you remember as REALLY sucking but that somehow you had to live with?

Smith Micro
Intuit (need more be said)
Parallels, Inc. (massive problems with the fall upgrades, refuse to answer a myriad of forum posts)
iView (ditto, see Parallels…great product turned to shite when developer started caring more about selling out than maintaining)
Disney software (sells software that requires Shockwave player to work, which only runs on Classic and only with heavy hacking on Intel Macs... insane)
Delicious Monster

1990s Apple is the hands-down winner... take a trip down memory lane... http://www.insanely-great.com/features/010806.html
lots of seriously broken hardware. The Lombard was my personal trip to hell, but then, I never owned a Performa...

In America, the only respectable form of socialism is socialism for the rich.
* BlackBaud's NetCommunity -- proudly outputting nested tables upon nested tables when a simple list would do (damn near HTML 3.0) and using SharePoint technology as a bolt-on...

* Adobe CS3's Installer/Updater -- seriously, every time it launches it brings a machine to its knees. It needs to update the updater all too frequently, it forces you to quit all your web browsers to update even Photoshop, and generally just sucks.

* Apple's lack of integration with Exchange. I can't fault Exchange per se here ... it's an ocean and Apple can't swim.

Have you upgraded to 28.8k modems, yet?

I think I may have been one of the eight people that owned a 9600 baud modem for a short time.
