Spork Template

So, those of you clamoring for that Spork look and feel, go to your "Control Center", click "Forum Settings" and choose the "Spork Template v1.0".

Note that this choice will only affect the "Spork Central" forum - all the rest are set to use the MacEdition theme for branding purposes.

Please tell me your suggestions about this theme and its' behavior in this thread.

Functionality features/bugs should still go in their own threads.

Hm. I may have deleted an anchor tag or something.

Looks like the anchor tag is there. It may be a part of Safari's aggressive pre-rendering and the fact that with XHTML, images don't have a height until they are loaded... </speculation>

Ghidorah, glad to see someone's avatar is less scary with the new broads.

Indeed - but look at the way it draws (at least for me...)! The page jumps down some amount before the images fully draw...

For some reason, the type in Firefox on Windows looks really small now. I'd say 10 points.

DPBD,

Tom, hats off for the Spork layout. I for one miss WebX but the Spork look and feel is definitely here.

I agree!

Spork Forum template is fantastic. Makes me think that either you spent a helluva lot of time on it or other folks that throw together ghastly looking web fora ought to look for new jobs. Or both!

Much thanks!

Stan,

I knocked together the Spork template in about three hours.

The Spork "Check Subs" behavior is going to take a little more time. :)

That I could do it that quickly is testament to how configurable and skinnable Phorum is, though.

Thanks for the compliments, everyone.

can you turn off the "last edited by" stuff? We got by without that before and it's distracting.

In order to turn the text off, I have to either disable post editing, or hack the code that displays it. It's not part of the template.

I'd like to keep post editing on.

I could probably make it invisible now that I've wrapped it in a span.

DPBD:

I've used some CSS jiggery-pokery to make the "edited" line go away.

Sadly, I can't get rid of the "view changes" link because:

1) It's not in the span
2) I can't put it in the span because the language file (which was how I hacked the span around the other part) only contains the "view changes" text, not the whole anchor tag and parens.

That said, it will be invisible for regular users. Partially visible for mods and admins.
